URBAN ENVIRONMENT AND ITS CONTRIBUTIONS IN THE FIELD OF CRIMINALITY

Concern for the environment has been a discussion throughout history
human, insofar as its existence permeates the existence of the environment. That's why
Even the right to a balanced environment was included in several texts
constitutional rights, including in Brazil, gaining the status of human rights. In this context of
harmonious coexistence between man and the environment, the concepts of environmental
urban, as being the urban space built by man himself, with buildings
closed and open urban spaces, such as squares, open spaces, streets and other facilities
public spaces that serve to guarantee the well-being of social coexistence. The absence of this
infrastructure in certain areas of a city, in casu, Santarém, should contribute to
that the crime rate is higher and more evident than the crime
possibly existing in places where public equipment, sanitation, lighting,
streets and squares receive the necessary attention from the State. For this reason, this research was
called “Urban Environment and its contributions in the field of crime”,
intending to discuss how the absence of a balanced Urban Environment, the
called Artificial Environment, ends up interfering in the commission of crimes in the city
of Santarém, firstly identifying which legal mechanisms can guarantee the right to
this Environment, including as a human right. To this end, the progress of the research will
use of the qualitative method, as it will allow the search for data in banks maintained by bodies
of Public Administration who work in the municipality of Santarém.
