DIAGNOSIS OF THE INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT OF SANTARÉM: STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT AND ALIGNMENT WITH THE STATE OF ART
Business Arrangements, Industrial District, Santarém
The city of Santarém is considered a medium-sized economic center with great influence in the western region of Pará. In the 1980s, favorable demonstrations began for the implantation of an industrial district. In 2016, the Pará Economic Development Company (Codec) launched a project contemplating the analysis of several aspects relevant to the installation of a district. For this reason, it becomes appropriate to research this topic. For the development of this work, an exploratory research was initially carried out, composed of a bibliographic and documentary research, making it possible to present a review of the literature about the models of industrial clusters, emphasizing the Marshallian industrial district as well as aspects related to the classification of an industrial district and also data from the proposed conceptual project. Thus, it became possible to carry out a prior classification of the planned district to be implemented in Santarém. The next stage will consist of the development of field research with stakeholders, aiming to obtain new information about the notions of the local business community and representatives of local institutions. In this way it will be possible to classify the district of Santarém and identify whether it comprises the main characteristics of success of an industrial district.
