This master's thesis analyzes the productive chain of the seed of the fruit of the Castanheira (Bertholletia excelsa), the Brazil nuts, from the view of the quilombola communities of the Trombetas river and of the relations with the other agents of the chain. They are remnants of quilombo communities, specifically from extractivists (Castanheiros), who after the slavery regime occupied the locality of the area called Alto Trombetas I, in the municipality of Oriximiná / Pará. The main focus of this work will be to seek to understand and describe the productive chain of the Brazil nuts, considering the quilombola narratives about the different agents involved in the production chain. For this research, the main agents in the chain are: extractivists, bargains / middlemen, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), cooperatives and community associations and the State. The proposal is to make a description through interviews and observations focusing on quilombolas from Alto Trombetas in the Castanha do Pará chain, which will subsidize the FOFA matrix and econometric valuation methods in the chain with information.
