Faced with the emergence of environmental issues, there is a growing demand in the consumer market for products free of any predatory exploitation, both environmental and socioeconomic, being the Brazil nut, one of these natural resources. Studies prove that the extraction of the nuts although it helps in the regeneration of the chestnuts, however it has not been so profitable for quilombolas of the upper Trombetas River. In this context, this research intends to analyze the production chain of the Brazil nut (Bertholletia excelsa Bonpl & Humb.) considering the possibilities for fair trade as a Bioeconomic strategy. The research methodology adopted was the bibliographic review in the main documents related to the chosen locus, the quilombos of the Trombetas River, containing basically three stages: 1. Selection and reading of documents; 2. Descriptive analysis based on human, economic and environmental dimensions; 3. Proposition of the fair trade model for brazil nuts. The expected results aim to contribute to the economic sustainability of the historical and resistant extraction of quilombolas of the upper Trombetas River.
