IMPLEMENTATION OF HIGH SPACE RESOLUTION IN THE CONTOUR CONDITIONS OF THE WRF MODEL: A CASE STUDY ABOUT THE MESOREGION OF SANTARÉM - PA
WRF model; Geographic data of better resolution; Meteorological data; Santarém - PA.
The Weather Research and Forecast (WRF) model is a numerical weather forecast model that uses meteorological and geographic data to perform its simulations. The geographic data used by the WRF model, referring to land cover, and topography are from the United States Geological Survey - USGS. Such geographic data are in scales that are not very detailed and their information is out of date, which can generate inaccuracies in the results when compared to geographic data generated from more detailed and updated cartographic bases. The objective of this research is to compare the results of the simulations carried out with the standard geographic data of the model, with the results of simulations with geographic data of better resolution in the municipality of Santarém - PA. It is expected that the observed meteorological data will show an improvement over the original data, mainly in relation to parameters such as temperature and relative humidity of the air at 2m.
