  • This research explores the theme "sustainable fishing practices, knowledge, and techniques used by fishermen in the municipality of Itacoatiara – Amazonas." The aim of this study is to deepen the understanding of artisanal fishing management, with a special focus on sustainable fishing practices, aiming to identify the essential elements of traditional fishermen's know-how and the methods of transmitting this knowledge. The geographical area of interest for this investigation is the municipality of Itacoatiara, located in the Amazonas, Brazil.

Adopting a qualitative literature review approach, this research utilizes various data sources, including articles, journals, periodicals, dissertations, and books, to shed light on the following guiding questions: What are the main components of fishermen's know-how, and how are their sustainable fishing practices transmitted? The methodology involves the collection of bibliographic data, searching academic databases such as Google Scholar, CAPES, Web of Science, and the repository of the Emílio Goeldi Museum.

The literature analysis focuses on the dimensions of fishermen's know-how, exploring artisanal fishing techniques, the use of gear, and the intergenerational transmission of traditional knowledge. Upon concluding this study, the goal is to achieve a deeper understanding of the richness of traditional knowledge within these communities, examining their practices, the involved agents, and the interaction with the environment. It emphasizes particularly the observation of how this knowledge is transmitted and preserved over time.

Therefore, the analysis of sustainable fishing in the Amazon encompasses strategies and measures aimed at ensuring responsible exploitation of fishery resources, preserving the regenerative capacity of species, and the long-term integrity of aquatic ecosystems. Over the centuries, fishing has evolved from rudimentary techniques into an essential activity in the global socioeconomic context, providing jobs and income. However, unbridled development has led to harmful practices such as overfishing and predatory fishing, threatening aquatic populations.

  • The western region of Pará, located in the Amazon, faces socioeconomic challenges, such as extreme poverty, which can directly impact the conditions for offering school education to students with disabilities. This research proposed to analyze the normative guidelines that underlie the right to inclusive education in the context of regular education for people with disabilities in municipal schools located in the urban area of Santarém, in the state of Pará. The methodological approach of bibliographic and documentary research was adopted to analyze these normative guidelines. Data collection focused on the evaluation of documents, especially the Municipal Education Plan. It was identified that the Municipal Education Plan (PME) of Santarém, from 2015 to 2025, outlines specific strategies for the implementation of inclusive education, seeking to eliminate barriers and guarantee full access and participation for students with disabilities. It was observed that the lack of anticipatory and targeted public policies can compromise the effective implementation of inclusive practices, including due to the geographic characteristics and population dispersion in the Amazon region, which results in difficulties in accessing specialized services and continued training for professionals. education professionals, especially those who work in Special Education. School inclusion in rural schools in the Brazilian Amazon, such as in Santarém, becomes an additional challenge, as the lack of multifunctional resource rooms directly interferes with Specialized Educational Service, compromising the provision of complementary and differentiated education.

  • The municipality of Juruti has recently stood out in the Lower Amazon region as a potential cultural destination for Festribal, as the Juruti Indigenous Tribes Folk Festival is commonly known, which has been established as such since 1995. This festival was recognized as a cultural heritage site in the state of Pará in 2008 and enabled Juruti to be included on the Tourism Map in 2016, as well as promoting itself as an event that values indigenous peoples and takes a political stance on the preservation of the Amazon. Currently, it is gaining discursive strength in the economic field, as a tool capable of generating jobs and income for the region through tourism. Using a discursive approach and a methodological proposal inspired by Michel Foucault, the aim of the research is to analyse the processes of emergence of Festribal in Juruti as a vector of development, based on the subjects involved in organizing and financing the festival. For this analysis, the study is divided into three dimensions that follow the direction of the metaphor of archaeology as a research procedure. The first dimension describes the structure of Festribal in Juruti in terms of its current presentation, organization and financing, in other words, the festival as it is today, what Foucault calls its surface. The second dimension points out the temporal markers or surfaces of emergence that were decisive in consolidating Festribal's prominence on the cultural scene, which corresponds to "archaeological excavations".The last dimension points to the knowledge about the Amazon called episteme, within Foucault's methodological design. The studies indicate that within the enunciative locus there is a hybridization between the subjects who have constructed a set of discourses based on statistical data, cultural tourism, the Amazonian imaginary and the state as a catalyst for culture, which together enable the Juruti Festribal to materialize as a vector for local development. All this shows a diverse, dialectical and decolonial contemporary Amazon.

  • The study of the history and motivations of crime is fundamental to understanding the roots and evolution of the crime phenomenon. This research aims to explore the historical origins and factors that drive criminal practice, providing a crucial debate for understanding the motivations of crime, providing a debate on how social, economic and cultural changes have influenced the nature of crime over time. . The text presents a multidisciplinary theoretical approach, through analyzes and studies of historical and sociological sources, academic productions and documentaries about crime throughout history. The text is organized into three parts, the first of which presents a historical trajectory of crime and how punishments occurred, mapping its evolution from the beginnings of humanity to ancient civilizations. The second part presents the theoretical concern of crime, where crime becomes an object of reflection and study. This section takes a journey that goes from Plato's ideas of justice and virtue to the logic of Gary Stanley Becker's economy of crime. The third part presents the motivations approach in which issues such as inequality, marginalization, environmental and psychological influences will be examined in more detail. The importance of understanding the history and motivations of crime as a basis for implementing more effective public policies and more targeted prevention strategies is also highlighted.

  • The National Student Assistance Plan (Pnaes) was instituted through Normative Ordinance of the Ministry of Education nº 39/2007. The context of the creation of this plan reflects the scenario of expansion and democratization of higher education in Brazil, where there was a significant increase in the number of students entering in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability. In order to combat social inequalities, the public served by the Pnaes are students enrolled in on-campus undergraduate courses, coming from public schools or with a per capita family income of up to one and a half minimum wages. Subsequently, Decree No. 7,234/2010 was created, which establishes the reduction of retention and evasion rates as one of the central objectives of the plan. From this perspective, this study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Pnaes to combat university dropout at the Federal University of Western Pará (Ufopa). Therefore, some statistical method will be used to verify the functional relationship between the budget executed in student assistance actions and the dropout rate, in the period from 2010 to 2021. Through this study, we seek to verify the existence of an inverse relationship, in which there is a reduction in the Ufopa evasion rate when the investment (execution) in (of) actions carried out with the Pnaes budget in the institution increases. Based on the preliminary results, it was verified that the Permanência Scholarship was the action with the highest budget executed, and its implementation was a milestone as the beginning of the student assistance policy at Ufopa, followed by the scholarships for scientific initiation, monitoring, foreign language and extension, and during the pandemic period, Ufopa prioritized actions aimed at promoting adequate conditions for students to stay in undergraduate courses and participate in remote classes. Regarding evasion, it was found that there were some peaks in the years when academic prescription notices took place and that, in the pandemic, the number of students on lockdown increased.

  • Brazilian penitentiary policies were developed by men and for men, with systematic gender violence being a reality of incarcerated women, as they are deprived of rights, such as maternity, sexuality, family life and basic hygiene. On that account, this research addresses the issue of Restorative Justice as a viable alternative for the empowerment of women deprived of liberty, given the impossibility and dehumanization perpetrated by the prison environment. Thus, it presents as general objective the understanding and debating the impacts resulting from the application of Restorative Justice, through peacemaking circles, with women incarcerated at the Women's Recovery Center (CRF) in Santarém/PA, applying the methodology of participant observation along to the mentioned circles. Hence, this study consists in applied research, with an exploratory focus and a qualitative approach. At the same time, semi-structured interviews were also carried out, with open questions, these being with 4 (four) inmates and 2 (two) servants of the women's prison in Santarém. Throughout this dissertation, the potential of Restorative Justice was demonstrated in transforming relational, structural, institutional, and cultural violence, reaching debates on social justice, racism, gender violence and their intersectionalities, with a view to social and individual co-responsibility, damages reparation, building fair relationships, restoring (interpersonal/community) bonds, treating trauma, and preventing future violence. As a result of the introduction of peacemaking circles in the women's penitentiary of Santarém, the construction of a safe and respectful space for dialogue and interaction between incarcerated women was observed, creating a haven for them to address their stories of abuse, traumas, and feelings, providing opportunities for healing, self- forgiveness, embracement, resignification of memories and violence, support and support and empowerment. In addition, the circles also favored the creation of a feeling of sisterhood, solidarity and empathy between the women participating in the circles, providing identification, inclusion, connection, and healthy and respectful relationships between the inmates, and between them and the penitentiary employees. Finally, it concluded that the circles were able to, to some extent, humanize the female prison system of Santarém, enabling the redefinition of sentences and the prison environment.

  • The favelization process occurred as a result of urban swelling due to the intense rural exodus and immigration in world cities, specifically in Brazilian cities, the opportunities and industrial investments applied to the urbanization process became attractive to different niches of human needs, the population migrated in search of subsidies such as work, leisure, culture and basic inputs in the perspective of having a better life. However, the cities were not physically prepared for the degree of migratory occurrences, segregating the areas according to their purchasing power and social influence, the population that was not in this framework was excluded from areas with the highest investment rate and migrated to land wastelands or with environmental characteristics that excluded interest and real estate speculation. These extension areas have become peripheral and with low levels of public policies, where decent housing, urban mobility, public and institutional services, and leisure are minimal, segregating the city into its centers and slum areas where the poor population is socially, financially, and environmentally vulnerable. The objective of the study is to analyze the profile of social vulnerability in the slum Bela vista located in Santarém / Pará. For this, a multimethod study will be used, the combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, which serves to validate the observation bias through triangulation, where there is corroboration of the individual points of each method, allowing the understanding of a phenomenon, the research will be located in the city of Santarém, State of Pará, Brazilian Amazon, precisely in the spontaneous occupation Bela Vista, located in the southern part of the city and it has its mediations areas with peripheral and environmental characteristics such as the APA Serra do Saúbal. In this way, the aim is to expand the discussion on the peripheries and generate knowledge about the reality with the possibility of creating an instrument that effectively helps the creation and implementation of public policies that understand the need and the specificity of the place and its actors. In addition, it is expected to generate information for society about the reality of occupations in the municipality.

  • The constant large-scale external evaluations in basic education and the diffusion of their results have resulted in pressures on the school community, affecting the curriculum and teaching practices, at the same time, producing indicators that redirect investments and help the executive sphere in the implementation of educational policies aimed at improving the quality of public education. In the city of Santarém, state of Pará, we know little about the implications that indicators produced by external evaluations have on policies conducted by the Municipal Education Department (SEMED) and how they reach schools. In this perspective, the present study aims to analyze and reflect on how the Municipal Department of Education and the schools of the municipal public network of the city of Santarém-PA appropriate the results of large-scale external evaluations of basic education. This is a study that starts from a quantitative and qualitative perspective, descriptive and exploratory. The materials and methods of approach were constituted by documentary research, semi-structured interviews and questionnaires. Therefore, by deepening the debate and knowledge of what happens in school upon receiving the results, we verify and analyze which actions are being carried out based on the external evaluations, It is expected to realize the understanding that such evaluations are an important pedagogical resource that can come to assist and qualify the pedagogical work performed. In addition to ascertaining that such evaluations are used as a control regulation instrument of the "Evaluating State". The research is in the initial phase of realization, and according to the first readings made to date of this qualification, there are no effective actions on the part of managers, both in the system and schools, in the redirection of pedagogical actions after results of large-scale evaluations.

  • The textile production of the hammock in São Bento/PB intertwines with the history of
construction, housing and sociability of the city, where even as a village, the
making the product was already present among the families who lived there.
Observed as one of the main local economic activities, the
sleeping generates employment and income for those involved in the manufacturing process,
also responsible for the low unemployment rate in the city, employing
80% of the workforce. The vast production of the textile product makes the city known
as the “world capital of hammocks” and exporting the hammock to different cities and
countries. Therefore, this research has a qualitative nature and aimed to analyze the
mode of the process of transmission of knowledge with regard to techniques of
production of networks between families, identify elements that affirm the feeling
of belonging to the place and especially to the practice of making the hammock,
understand the representations given to hammocks and their use in spaces
appropriated by the netherlands in São Bento/PB, in addition to accessing the memories of
people interviewed, seeking to understand the relationship with the production of the
sleeping, which provided an ethnography about the identity and sociability process
based on the transmission of knowledge by hammock makers in São
Bento/PB. For this, the trajectory of the hammocks and hammocks was analyzed, aiming to access
to the memories that the hammock allowed to generate. It was also observed the
recognition devices and identity representations linked to networks of
sleep, noting the existence of spaces like Praça do Redeiro, as well as parties like
Arraiá Balançando a Rede and Festa do Caminhoneiro and also the use of the hammock as a
ornamentation, like the Christmas period. Transmission of knowledge in what
concerns the production techniques of networks between families, occurs through observation,
as reported by the interlocutors. The research was developed through the
Oral history, in which it was possible to access their oral reports from memory and, through
their speeches, analyze the trajectory of the interlocutors in relation to the production of
    hammock.

  • Brazilian Public Health, through the Unified Health System (SUS), encompasses primary, medium and high complexity care, urgent and emergency services, among others, based on the principles of universality, equity and comprehensiveness. On the national scene, morbidity and mortality from external causes manifested by accidents and violence, which represent a high rate of pre-hospital care and hospital admissions due to trauma, according to a preliminary analysis at the local level, draws attention. This study aimed to evaluate the availability of the Trauma Care Line service offer in the urgency and emergency network and its regulatory flows from the Hospital Municipal de Santarém, in the period from 2019 to 2021. using quantitative data with a descriptive presentation, this research sought answers to the guiding question: Under what conditions has the provision of services from the Trauma Care Line guaranteed the generation of care production to SUS users in the public health network of the municipality of Santarém/PA? The methodological path included the collection of secondary data, of a quantitative and descriptive nature, originating from the hospitalization at the Municipal Hospital of Santarém (HMS) due to the ICD of Transport Accidents and Falls, supported by additional information from the flow in the RAS next to the Ambulatory Specialties and Municipal Health Secretariat (Semsa). The focus of health assessment in this dissertation is based on the Donabedian Triad (Structure, Process, Result) whose method is widely referenced in Brazilian public health policy. This dissertation concludes with the identification of flawed points in some administrative and assistance processes at the Hospital Municipal de Santarém, through inconsistencies that prevented the qualification of the information on the offer of services from the perspective of the Trauma Care Line, as well as the perception of low performance in the quality of the conditions of a patient's hospitalization, generating a production of humanized care, based on the length of stay in both observation and clinical beds, and the regulation/transfer of the patient to another health establishment. Other unfavorable issues identified are related to the structural issue of the Municipal Ambulatório de Especialidades Médicas and to the information on scheduling consultations for outpatient requests by the Municipal Health Department, since not all appointments allowed the identification of the effectiveness of the service.

  • Health is a universal right in Brazil at all levels of care, and it is the duty of the State to provide the conditions necessary for its full exercise, with equality of health care, without prejudice or privileges of any kind, and a right of every citizen. The objective of this study is to analyze the access and effectiveness to health services offered by the unified health system in the Murumuru and Saracura quilombos located in Santarém Pará, seeking to know which services are effectively offered by the SUS to the Murumuru and Saracura quilombolas, investigating how these quilombolas have access to public health services, identifying the difficulties for these quilombolas to access public health policies, ascertaining what actions/strategies were carried out to ensure effective access to health services during the Covid-19 pandemic in quilombos in study, and making an assessment of the obstacles and challenges of the SUS in these quilombos with regard to the implementation of public health policies and the effective access to the health services offered by the SUS. This is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach, where a survey of information on effective access to health services offered by the SUS will be carried out, which can serve as a basis for the implementation of effective public policies in the quilombos. The choice of quilombos for the development of the research was due to the territorial specificities, with one quilombo located in the plateau region and the other in the riverside area of Santarém, thus, with different contexts for effective access to the services offered by the public system. of health. Data collection will take place through semi-structured interviews. The subjects of this study will be fathers/mothers, quilombola leaders, municipal and state managers, and health professionals working in the quilombos. It is hoped with this research, to highlight the inequalities and lack of equity related to access to effective services offered in these two quilombola communities, in addition, giving knowledge of the result to the managers of the municipality, aiming at future effective public policies.

Given the conflict between the right to cultural diversity and the right to life, the approval of PLC 119/2015 without prior consultation points to a forced state intervention in internal cultural issues. Intercultural dialogue and listening to indigenous voices through prior consultation are effective alternatives for reducing cases of “indigenous infanticide” among the Kamayurá. The suppression of the rights of ethnic minorities, through legislative impositions, in addition to characterizing an act of institutional violence, violates human dignity, compromising the ability to recognize and identify communities in which the dissemination of collective memory is a prerequisite for the perpetuation of their societies.

How do the processes and relations of the production of a notary alchemy occur that transform papers without legal value into documents translating domain? How do the investigations of evidence of illegalities occur? In general, the objective of the research is to analyze how land grabbing strategies are presented through the use of sesmarias letters. Specifically, the research has the following objectives: to identify the theoretical categories related to the formation process of private land ownership; map the sesmarias issued in the colonial period; understand the process of discrimination and collection of federal and state public lands, as well as confirm the location of sesmarias in areas collected by the federal and state governments; and, to characterize cases of properties that have evidence of land grabbing sustained in letters of sesmarias. Based on the dialectical method, articulated by historical materialism, and based on the Theory of Creation and Re-creation of the Peasantry and Landholdings, the research procedures followed the following path: state of the question, analysis of documents and case studies. The investigation identified 12 (twelve) rural properties with evidence of land grabbing sustained in sesmarias letters. These properties have an area of approximately 79,000 ha (seventy thousand hectares) located in the municipalities of Altamira, Juruti, Medicilândia, Óbidos, Prainha and Terra Santa.

The general aim of the research is to understand the construction of the Amazonian queer identity of the artist Rawi, analyzing the subjective and performative experiences in the city's queer scene. How peripheral identities are constructed in social contexts where male hegemony dominates creating meanings and distributing powers; Compose aesthetic elements of queer Amazonians and their strategies of autonomy and resistance in interior contexts; and the possibilities opened up by these subjects' performances have a positive impact on the construction of new identities for those who follow these artists' work. The perspective addressed in this process is based on the writings of queer theory, sexuality and identity. The methodologies used were open questionnaires, conversations, participant observation and ethnographic writing. The procedural organization for carrying out the research was the visual records produced by the author and from the artist's personal collection. Rawi's self-identity dialogues with the flow of waters and their symbolic dimension. His fluid identity “plays” with the elements of masculinity, turning it upside down. Subjectivity is expressed there and places Rawi on the floor of the condition of queer identity in modernity.

  • Protagonism in ethnographies that consider the themes of Sexuality and gender is little addressed in communities such as the greater Aritapera area. Observing these issues in cultural movements in Festejos Varjeiros, in which the entire floodplain community mobilizes, are excellent opportunities for studies of sexual and gender diversity in the interior of the Amazon. The methodology will mainly be based on a bibliographical review and qualitative interviews, which will be based on a pre-structured script, applied in riverside communities: Enseada do Aritapera, Centro do Aritapera, Carapanatuba and Água Preta. Ethnographic research tools have strong connections with transdisciplinary methodologies linked to the Integrated Research, Teaching and Extension Project Guardians of Amazon Sociobiodiversity. At the end of this dissertation, we hope to understand, from the Aritapera Region, gender and sexuality relations in the interior of the Amazon in cultural movements.

  • The “isolation” of indigenous peoples is a topic widely debated in the public policy, in civil society, in academia and in the media. In indigenous comunities and assemblies, the discussion about “isolated” “relatives” is also debated and often treated in a heated manner, as it is directly linked to discussions about their indigenous territories (and territorial protection). The relationship with their territories (the territorialities) is articulated and influenced by the ways, peaceful or not, of relating to other indigenous groups and/or non-indigenous people - the State and populations aroud their territories. Their territoriality and ways of relating to other collectives are also pressured by the invasion and destruction of the rainforest. Based on different ethnographic experiences, provided by indigenist paths as a FUNAI servant in the Amazon region between 2006 and 2018 - from Acre to Maranhão, recorded in field diaries, intertwined with historical accounts available in extensive bibliographical and documentation, I seek with this dissertation to share indigenous and indigenist accounts and perspectives, developing different approaches and ways of writing about the theme. From the accumulation and interweaving of accouunts and own and bibliographic perspectives, it is possible to see that "isolation" - in its various forms - can be synonymous with "contact", futhermore the mobilization of these concepts does not only occur in relation to Amerindian collectives  categorized  by the state as "isolated indigenous peoples", but to all indigenous peoples.  A deep understanding of what “isolation” or “contact” means can reveal, like a magnifying glass, some particles that constitute the persistent genocidal and ethnocidal process on indigenous peoples. If so, the continuous and well-known indigenous resilience (the “isolation”?) would occur from and would be the proof, therefore, of the persistent genocidal and ethnocidal complex.

  • The municipality of Santarém, in the state of Pará, has musical production of great relevance to regional culture and has throughout its history significant activities that include making music in the formation of groups in diverse and varied environments, including, expressively, the schoolchildren. In this sense, projects that make it possible to teach music to students from municipal schools in the urban area of the city have been an alternative to putting into effect the insertion of music education in schools, such as the Music at School Project, which provides the necessary structure for the musical formation process through the teaching of instruments for the formation of school bands. This context, together with the systematization of music education regulated by the current educational legislation, brought the following questions to this research: What are the policies presented by the Municipal Education Secretariat of Santarém for the realization of music education in the schools of its education network? How is music teaching being inserted in schools in the municipality? What is the contribution of the Music in Schools Project in the implementation of music teaching in municipal public schools in Santarém / PA? Therefore, this research intends to investigate the contribution of the Music at School Project in the implementation of music teaching in public schools in the urban area, members of the municipal network of Santarém / PA. This is a research with a qualitative approach, such as a case study and will count as a data collection tool, the bibliographic and documentary survey, as well as the application of questionnaires in the students involved.

  • This dissertation is an approach about the access and permanence of indigenous students in higher education in Brazil, ensured through the Indigenous basic training Project (FBI) established by Resolution number 194/2017 and after that, by the Affirmative Action Policy and Promotion of Ethnic-Racial Equality, based on Resolution number 200/2017, both of them from CONSEPE/Ufopa. This legal framework was the basis for the creation of FBI to indigenous students that entering the institution's undergraduate courses, through the Special Indigenous Selection Process (PSEI), and directed permanence policies in higher education. The general objective is to analyze the contribution of basic Indigenous Education, as an affirmative action policy, in the academic performance of students. The methodological way of research used multi-methods and the descriptive typologies, field and documentary, through a questionnaire conducted by Google forms, and semi-structured interviews guided by a script with open-ended questions. Three groups of students were analyzed: (a) those who didn´t participate to the FBI, in 2014 and 2015 entrants; (b) those who partially participated to the FBI, newcomers in 2016; and (c) those who fully participated to the FBI, entering in 2017 and 2018. Data provided by Ufopa's Information and Communication Technology Center were used, containing information about the performance of indigenous students in the curricular components taken. It was found that the FBI contributes to solidify support networks and promote access to academic life; there is recognition by the FBI coordinators, about the importance of the project in the institution, but it still needs investment, in terms of human material and financial resources, in addition to including the FBI in the Political Pedagogical Project of the courses and creating the specific Institute; Finally, hypothesis tests were performed indicating that there were  statistically significant differences between the academic performance of the students among the three analyzed groups, indicating better performance by those who took the FBI in detriment of those who did not attend it or took it partially. The conclusion of this research revealed that the FBI, as a policy of affirmative action at Ufopa, has contributed to the academic success of indigenous students, in addition to ensuring their access and permanency in higher education.

Thtough Law 7.225, of November 24, 2008, enacted by the then governor of the State of Pará, Ana Júlia Carepa, the street carnival in the municipality of Óbidos, traditionaly Know as “CARNAPAUXIS: the party of the masked fobó” received the title Cultural and Artistic Heritage of Pará, thus achieving greater projection  in the cultural scene of Pará. Considering that such cultural manifestation is already configured as an important e event in the local and regional scenario, it started from the premise that such representativeness reflects, in part, in sociopolitical transformaction of the municipality during the period of its realization. In this sense, the problem that stimulates the research is based on the following question: Is it possible to make a historical analysis of the obidense street carnival from its beginnings to the present day? Aiming to draw a parallel with the problem raised, the construction of the general objective of this research is limited to: Investigate how the street carnival of the municipality has been transformed throughout history, considering, above all, its sociopolitical aspects. In accordance with the general objective, it was specifically chosen to discuss the history of carnival from antiquity to the present day based on documentary research; present the context of each historical moment addressed in the research; to analyze the sociopolitical aspect of the municipality from historiographical and documentary studies on the street carnival in the municipality of Óbidos; analyze documents in public spaces (School, Museum, Casa da Cultura, etc) that deal with the obidense carnival, for theoretical reference purposes; In the course of the work, the history of carnival will be discussed in the broader context from antiquity to the present day. The historical approach of Óbidos carnival, as well as the analysis of bibliographic and documentary research, during the event in question, in this municipality, will be discussed from the qualitive method, where three themes will be presented: Carnival, a historical approach; Carnapauxis, historical contextualization; Carnapauxis, the official block.

The study intends to face the clashes around imposing projects and activities, that is, the actions that are conducted or allowed by the Brazilian State, without the participation and listening of the interests and the Munduruku people’s development perspectives. The upper and middle Tapajós river Munduruku indigenous territory that marks the analysis locus of this research is placed between the municipalities of Jacareacanga, Trairão and Itaituba. Through the analysis of the manifestations presented in letters, pronouncements, and interviews, we seek to extract what is formulated by the Munduruku about projects of imposing development in their territories, starting from the affirmation that these rationalities are silenced and neglected by the State. The bibliographic and documentary research method was applied through the analysis of books, theses, articles in periodicals, magazines, legislations, letters from the Munduruku, pronouncements, interviews, judicial proceedings, news, institutional documents, and jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights regarding the rights of indigenous peoples. The Munduruku are affected by illegal projects and activities that are born in a place full of disrespect for democracy and human rights, the pressure on the territories is felt by the increasing number of invasions, land disputes and innumerous dam projects. What is perceived is that indigenous and traditional people are ignored in political decision-making arenas, and legislative and administrative acts that affect them are taken arbitrarily, without guaranteeing the democratic process and the right to prior consultation. The Munduruku shows us that the right to consultation (a right that enables other fundamental human rights) is treated with disdain by the Union. The Brazilian State takes to heart a decision already taken, with no possibility of change and that must be carried out at any price, even if it conditions living beings to an unworthy condition and total erasure. This demonstrates how necessary it is to listen to the people who will be affected, enabling a democratic and fair decision-making process.

  • This study is about the growing strength of the black movement in the Lower Amazon, specifically through the Encounters Raízes Negras (1988 – 2021), which in its thirty years of existence deliberate on issues of combating racism, problems related to education, health, infrastructure and environment. These Meetings seek to implement public policies for quilombola territories located in the Lower Amazon region, and are continually reinforced by processes of collective identification and by struggles to enforce acquired quilombola rights. The objective of this research is to gather, present, debate and analyze the so-called Black Roots Meetings of the Lower Amazon, in a time span of thirty years (1988 – 2018), and related documents entitled Open Letters where adversities are deliberate faced by quilombola communities in this portion of Brazilian territory. These documents were dispersed in the municipalities of Alenquer, Belém, Óbidos, Oriximiná and Santarém and there is a need to bring them together in a single study so that they are not forgotten, revised and debated again (for cases where the related setbacks persist to the quilombola territories of the Lower Amazon). The recovery, review and debate of these documents, in the present time, can serve as a paradigm to (re) seek the implementation of public policies for these quilombola territories, through new legal, political, economic, social, cultural and administrative tools.

How did these Deaf graduate students learn about inclusive education according to the Deaf Pedagogical or Hearing Pedagogical Methodology?

We need to understand that there is a difference between Deaf and Hearing Pedagogical practices, as they differ in their linguistics in LIBRAS and Portuguese, whose core is that hearing teachers do not know Libras, they only use oral teaching of Portuguese, in which hearing students understand well , as they use their own language as a model, which facilitates communication. It is notorious that Deaf students learn their sign and visual language, with the interaction of Deaf teachers who facilitate acquisition and learning, and also with hearing teachers who are bilingual (LIBRAS/Portuguese) who, for such ability, respect LIBRAS linguistics teaching and assisting in development.

  • The current research seeks to rescue and identify, from the point of view of image, the urban transformations in the city of Santarém (Pa), and to assemble a photographic album resulting from these modifications. The objectives include investigating the image as a form of mediation with the world; producing a way of seeing the city through visual montage and rescuing in the archives of Balaio Santareno, by Emir Bemerguy, and in the work of local authors, stories and events about the city, connecting memories associated with the time interval between images. The photographs in the collection show the urban riverside of Santarém (Pa) in the 1940s to 1970s. The same places are being photographed again by the author, resulting in comparative images with a look from the past, in Vidal Bemerguy's photographs, and a contemporary look, with a time interval of about 50 years. The research questions what is the city we currently have, at our eyes' reach, and the events that led to this design. The seeing through images and its use as a result, and not only as a research support, is what is proposed, under the light of authors who reflect on the act of looking and the process of apprehension of the world through imagination, and who treat the technical image (photography) as a means of producing new ways of seeing.

  • The present work deals with the land and environmental reality of the southern portion of BR 163
in Pará and the interpretation of the constitutional fence to the usucapião of public lands from the
analysis of this reality under the approach of the Structuring Theory of Law. It presents, initially,
the context of occupation of the region and state policies for the Amazon. It then maps out the
land tenure of the corridor around the highway, with its public lands and conservation units.
It analyzes the repercussion, on this context, of the great actions of inspection and of the action
of the Judiciary Power and of the institutions that before him postulate. It presents a complete
history of legal and infralegal regulations regarding land regularization in Amazonia, culminating in
the edition of Law 13.465 / 2017, the terms of which are analyzed in more detail. It goes on to deal
with the model of pretended development intended and undertaken for the region. Then the work
begins to discuss the institute of usucapion and the fence of its incidence on public lands, while also
addressing the vast benefits instituted by the provisions of law 13.465 / 2017. Finally, it proposes the
use of the methods of the Structuring Theory of Law in the conception of a decision rule that interprets
art. 191, sole paragraph, of the Constitution in the light of the concrete reality presented in the course
of the work, in order to appreciate the (in) constitutionality of Law 13.465 / 2017.

  • The "Order of Souls" is a tradition of Portuguese origin spread in various parts of Brazil, under different denominations. Carried out, in general, during Holy Week, it congregates ritual practices of prayer, intonation of litanies, lamentable songs and prayers that seek to intercede for souls. In Oriximiná, northwest of Pará, nine groups composed of specialists in recommend souls work in the urban and rural areas of the municipality. Among them, the group "Santas Missões" was delimited as an empirical object of this ethnography. Accompanying them in different moments and contexts - before, during and after of rituals -, interacting and dialoguing with his members - including in the context of interviews - we inquire what is the motivation of the ritual and what responds by its continuity today. We hypothesize that, basically, the ritual assembly fulfills functions along two classes of distinct beings: the souls (of the dead) and the living. These, in turn, are divided into two groups: those who request / receive the ritual and the ordering of souls themselves, who execute it. In the native discourses, the religious categories of heaven, hell and purgatory are recurrent to justify the recommendation of souls and to articulate symbols and notions of the sacred, in order to effect effects on the state of souls. In the ritualistic acts that bring executors and spectators closer together, performances are in themselves objects that merit investigative attention. They are significant and affect the living by changing their own state. In the biographical accounts of the ordering of souls, the beliefs and knowledge that lead them to enter and / or continue in the group to perform the ritual as a kind of obligation emerge. In short, the research documents a ritual practice based on traditional knowledge about the world of the dead, but which produces effects in the world of the living, revealing ways of being, existing and thinking the phenomenon of life.

  • In the Amazon region, events that cause damage to the environment, traditional communities and indigenous peoples are recurrent. In view of this scenario, the study is relevant, once it analyzes the construction and implementation of a large enterprise in a place traditionally occupied by riverside communities, quilombolas or indigenous peoples. The research was developed in the Science of Society Graduate Program, in the Human Rights, Society and Environmental Citizenship research line. The research problem involves the following question: the free, prior and informed consultation, carried out with the support of protocols produced by indigenous peoples, quilombolas and fishermen who may be affected by the construction of the port terminal at Maicá Lake in Santarém/PA, has a binding effect? Seen in these terms, the general aim of the research was: to analyze whether the decision taken by communities and traditional peoples, based on free, prior and informed consultation, with the support of consultation protocols, has a binding effect in the case of the possibility of building the port terminal in the Lake Maicá, in Santarém/PA. The specific objectives were: a) to investigate the history, legal nature, subjects and applicability of ILO Convention 169; b) research international judgments regarding the applicability of the right to the free, prior and informed consultation; c) analyze whether the right to the free, prior and informed consultation is materially fundamental; d) examine how the elaboration of consultation protocols produced by indigenous peoples, quilombolas and fishermen takes place, especially in the case of Maicá Lake. In order to answer the research problem and achieve the expected objectives, qualitative, bibliographical, documentary research was used in the methodology, as well the inductive method. To analyze the consultation protocols, the hermeneutic-dialectic method by Maria Cecília de Souza Minayo was used, having as basic theories the “The Order of Discourse” by Michel Foucault, and “The inclusion of the Other” by Jürgen Habermas. As expected results, the research indicated that for the right to free, prior and informed consultation to have its purpose achieved, it is not enough to carry out the process as a simple formal step to be fulfilled. Decisions taken must have binding effect in order to comply with the provisions of Convention 169 of the ILO.

  • The Chamber for the Treatment of Agrarian and Land Conflicts in the Persecutor's Office of Pará (CTCAF) has become an integral part of the self-composition system of conflicts in Pará and has the proposal to draw up works with hard cases related to agrarian, land and socio-environmental issues. This research was carried out in order to answer to what extent the CTCAF installation process in Santarém allows us to understand the relations of power between the social actors who participated in it. This study was carried out using participant observation and extensive analysis of records made in the form of an ethnography of documents, as well as the peacebuilding theoretical framework. The research is justified by the importance of observing the impacts of self-composition practices in agreement and conflict of interests in the Amazon region. Studying about the installation process presents a stratum of the performance of these practices and was an alternative in view of the suspension of CTCAF activities due to the advent of the Covid 19 pandemic. Sociopolitical territory by human groups present and conflicts over the use of land and natural resources have shown a range of overlapping interests. By analyzing the power relations between the various actors present in this space, their clash of interests and defense and argumentation strategies around these own interests, it was possible to observe the training and multiplication strategies of leaders in grassroots communities as the main strategy of the Chamber until now. And yet how the actors at the regional level, in particular the Persecutor's Office of the State of Pará, in the figure of the Agrarian Justice Prosecutor, and the Federal University of Western Pará (UFOPA), in the figure of the Amazon Restorative Justice Clinic (CJUÁ), played strategic roles in ensuring a plurality of voices in the installation of the CTCAF.

formed from the collection of ceramic fragments found in the fields, their
classification, reframing and the possible meanings of “sacralization” pointed out by

reoccupation processes (territoriality) by populations other than those that produced
the black earth can from their new uses and senses (identity) confer a
new identity establishment to her. It is a qualitative, inductive research

  • “When I was a child, the lake on the street from my house was beautiful, full of water lilies, water hyacinth, herons and bright alligator eyes at night.” Thus, I introduce an ethnographic text that narrates an ethnic conflict in the São Miguel/Baixo Arapiuns community village, with which I started contact during a Restorative Justice and Peacemaking Circles Training that I was an instructor. Moved by the concern when realizing that the conflict had deep structural causes, I drew an (analytical) panorama of the conflict based on John Paul Lederach and Nirson Medeiros lessons. This panorama arose in view of the following question: what was there in the past plan of that place and of those people (community and villagers) that would allow me to understand the central issue, and would lead me to contribute to the construction of the desirable future they dreamed of? Therefore, I located as a central issue the school conflict narrated during the training: the fact that some students parents from Escola São Miguel Arcanjo forbade their children to keep in touch with a teacher because she is admittedly indigenous, as well as the difficulty of dialogue between the school community and the aforementioned teacher.I located the central issue in a present plane located between the past and future planes, and I cut the panorama with vertical arrows that I called dimensions. Dimensions are all facts (accounts, documents, etc.) that present possible causes of the central issue. This research path was accompanied by the teachings of Charles Wright Mills, who taught me that “to overcome academic prose, we have to overcome academic pose”. Mills' teachings gave me security to achieve my general objective: to understand, interpret and describe the process of peacebuilding in São Miguel community village, going through the investigation of the dimensions of the ethnic conflict in the past, present and future plans, so that they could arise. underlying causes of the core issue, meeting my specific goals. Having fulfilled the objectives, I ratified and rectified the hypotheses, presenting an overview of the conflict as a research product, as well as the following conclusions: a) The (ethnic) conflict should not be separated from the past, present and future plans; b) It is not recommended to deal with a community conflict in a resolute manner, given the continuity of relations in the community context; c) Initiating conflict handling by forming peace-building circles was an efficient handling strategy; d) Peace must be built strategically, so that there is sustainability; and e) The democratic space, protagonism and the feeling of belonging help to build and sustain peace.

• The large enterprises in the Amazon that commonly originate from development plans created by public agents, are often central points of great discussions, for arousing interest in various segments of society. Looking at past events and even the execution of major current projects, he realizes that the most relevant projects for the region, benefit capital holders more than the local population itself. This research aims to analyze investments in waterway infrastructure works in the PAC, addressing the territorial projection in the Amazon, comparing this program to the previous ones and having as a point of analysis the trajectory of the territorial ordering of public policies around the Madeira River and describing the investment proposals for using the commercial navigability of the Tapajós River. Addressing the conditions of the local population that faced changes in their environment to meet the flow of production by waterways in the Amazon as well as the economic impacts arising from the works on waterways. Using the technique of content analysis, with qualitative and quantitative characteristics, in order to describe the policies proposed by the PAC and demonstrate the relationship between the Amazon and the river and how the introduction of new tactics in the environment affects the territory and finally demonstrated a analysis of simple linear correlation of the investments made by the PAC in waterways with the tons of products drained by the Amazonian waterways, in a descriptive and comparative way of the secondary data extracted mainly from public documents of the federal government. Among the main results found, 62 municipalities in the Legal Amazon would be affected by the construction works of waterway terminals or by the widening of the navigability of the Amazon River, Madeira, Tocantins and Tapajós corridors. Also perceiving a moderate relationship between PAC investments in waterways and the flow of production on inland waterways.

  • The present study has as its theme, “Higher education: a study on the policy of student assistance in the trajectory of Ufopa”. The research proposal was limited to the three Units of the Institution located in the Municipality of Santarém-PA. The analyzes pertinent here are based on the historical process of insertion of higher education in Brazil, going through the policies of the student's permanence in the Universities over time, until reaching the main focus of this investigation, which is the approach with the Ufopa actors, directly involved with the management of student assistance in the academic environment. The analysis discusses the meanings of the student assistance policy, its materiality, the right to education, permanence in university and equity. It is a qualitative research with quantitative data, based on the historical-dialectical materialism method, understood here as the most appropriate for this type of approach. As a problem to be solved by this study, it was asked: "How did the Student Assistance Policy of the Federal University of Western Pará materialize throughout its trajectory?" Thus, the central objective is to analyze the process of implementing the student assistance policy at the Federal University of Western Pará, in its historical path. As instruments that will support this study, some institutional documents were used, such as resolutions, legislation, management reports, budget tables and institutional histories, as well as semi-structured interviews with administrative technicians, managers and former managers of the Dean of Student Administration, as well as informal conversations and questionnaires applied on the Google Forms platform for students with active links in Ufopa, who are users of student assistance. In a preliminary way, it is stated that it is possible to identify in the Institution some constraints to the equalization of human rights to education, given that in view of the political context, student assistance is linked much more to the logic of service than of law. Even so, it can be seen that there is a relationship between the receipt of aid and the performance of assisted students, since, according to the analysis of secondary data, it was evident from the reports, the improvement in the academic performance coefficient, after receiving the assistance aids. The results obtained indicate that although there is a need to expand in quantitative and qualitative terms, the student assistance programs existing at Ufopa are of great importance for the permanence of students in conditions of socioeconomic vulnerability.

In the state of Pará, there are seven priority municipalities, considering their high incidence rates, for the National Tuberculosis Control Program, the main government instrument to combat the disease. This research arises from the need to answer the question: what are the real achievements of public policies for the prevention and control of the disease of Tuberculosis in the western region of Pará? Based on the characteristics of both transmission and social factors that help in the spread of the disease, the present study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of public policies for the control and treatment of tuberculosis in the western region of Pará. The study was carried out in the municipalities that cover the 9th Regional Health Center - SESPA, in the years 2016 and 2017, through the use of data provided by the National System of Notifiable Diseases - SINAN. From the results obtained, it is possible to infer that despite the efforts made by agents involved in TB control in the region, the growing number of cases of the disease in the 9th CRS region is still worrying. High levels of treatment abandonment cases prevail, but there was also a considerable percentage of cases of cure, the highest incidence of cases occurred in male patients, the type of TB with the highest incidence was pulmonary type. The results point to concern with underreporting, in addition to the confirmation of an increase in new positive cases of Tuberculosis in the coverage area, characterizing as still discreet, but important, the effectiveness of public policies for the prevention and control of the disease of Tuberculosis in the western region of Pará.

  • The present study discusses the relation between female autonomy and the institutional market, with the objective of analyzing the implications that the insertion in institucional markets, specifically in the Programa de Aquisição de Alimentos (PAA), generates in the economic autonomy of women farmers who are beneficiaries. Of the program institutional markets are an important tool in promoting the strengthening of family agriculture by expanding opportunities for this social group. Thus, the creation of the minimum quota for the female gender in the PAA, established by Resolution No. 44 of August 16, 2011, in its Article 5, is an important strategy to increase gender equality and to overcome the invisibility of women in the context of public policies, in particular in the food procurement program. The literature shows that the analysis of the insertion of these women into the institutional markets should consider the context in which they are inserted and the productive dynamics, without disregarding the role of the governmental spheres and their agents. In this way, this work is contributed in bibliographical and field research, with semi-structured interviews with PAA coordination and women farmers living in the Metropolitan Region of Santarém-PA. Quantitative research was used to describe the socioeconomic profile of family farmers; the qualitative research for the deepening and understanding of the subjective aspects concerning the universe of the study. As a result, the Municipal PAA of Santarém was constituted from the articulation of several social actors and the municipal management of Santarém producing institutional arrangements with a focus on encouraging farmers. The participation of women farmers in the program, led to the achievement of economic autonomy, made possible by increasing income, managing their own destinies, conquering their emancipation and overcoming the condition of subordination towards the spouses. It established new social relations for women, provided access to actions focused on minimizing gender inequalities that historically permeated the rural environment, especially in productive spaces, provided an active participation in decision-making processes and consequently contributed to rural women's autonomy. But, it is necessary to implement the quota established for women, in order to implement actions for the visibility of rural women, contributing in fact and right to their emancipation. It is necessary to monitor the implementation of the PAA, its effectiveness and effectiveness, through further in-depth studies, in order to broaden the discussions on the issue of the autonomy of women farmers, through the insertion in productive work and marketing context. As well as socializing with the interested sectors so that it can subsidize in the improvement of the development of Public Policies that aim mainly, the promotion of the economic autonomy of the women farmers.

  • The conceptual conception of the várzea and its uses are something that has brought once more and more eminently the public spaces that can be seen and regularized by the public power in favor of the riverside populations that occupy historically. The use of natural resources, especially of fishery, is remarkable in environments and in the longest years, and the relations of nature with the regulation of patrimony can be considered as families. The experience of regularization of 45 lowland areas in Lower Amazonas, in the figure of the Agroextrativist Settlement Project, is a significant advance, as a result of the cooperation in 2005 between the Secretariat of Patrimony of the Union (SPU) and the National Institute for Colonization and Agrarian Reform SPU) INCRA). In this context, the issuance of a Real Use Right Concession Contract (CDRU) or an Assignment Contract (CCU) and its individual modality is not a measure of the families that allude to the recognition of their possessions and against public threats . Land regularization is still one of the most efficient ways of staying in use, it is necessary that people adapt to the same riverine use plans. The villagers also underwent a series of regularization processes of natural occupations and lakes that suffer from predatory fishing. The popular participation in the management of resources and in the process of life is fundamental to the success of the model of regularization and development of the world in order to preserve its natural riches. The guarantee of the constitutional right of citizenship is the greatest legacy process of land regularization, since it can be an opportunity plan to obtain an average of social, environmental and economic income. Legal security with a view to permanence in the areas becomes a fulfillment of a dream and the perpetuation of the traditions of a people who always live on the "borders" of the rivers and otherwise not know how to lead life.

  • Logging is one of the activities that uses the natural resources of the forests of sustainable use in Conservation Units. The Tapajós National Forest located in the Lower Amazon region, in the West of the State of Pará, stands out in the national and even international scenario for having the management carried out by traditional communities that besides commercializing the wood of legal origin, compromise to improve the quality of life of the populations living there, challenging the competitive wood market and the effectiveness of the sustainable activities used in Conservation Units. The present study aims to carry out a legal analysis of the Community Forestry Management implemented in Flona Tapajós in the light of socioenvironmental principles, seeking to understand the socioambientalism, in particular the analysis Principle of Participation, in the constitutional and infraconstitutional legal system. The research also aims to demonstrate the functions and applicability of socio-environmental legal principles in order to verify the existence or not of legal obstacles to the development, execution and autonomy of Community Forest Management. For this, a qualitative and quantitative research will be carried out, using methodological techniques through bibliographical studies, documentary analyzes and field research. Finally, it is expected that the present study may indicate compliance with or non-compliance with socio-environmental principles in Community Forest Management, thus contributing to the construction of a new legal reality of this sustainable activity in Brazilian forests.

  • This work consists of the analysis of the socioenvironmental impacts resulting from the urbanization process that leads towards Lake Juá, located seven kilometers from the central zone of the city of Santarém, State of Pará. From the perspective of the local fishermen, the effects of the urbanization process have profoundly affected the potential of that ecosystem as the fishing stock and, consequently, the main economic activity of that lacustrine community, the artisanal fishing. The research will use a theoretical conceptual framework obtained by the studies of Political Ecology, identifying the social actors and the environmental resources involved, together with the theoretical support of the studies carried out on environmental perception, of fundamental importance to understand the interrelations between man and the environment, their expectations, their longings, their satisfactions and their dissatisfaction, their judgments and their conduct in relation to the space where they are inserted. In the field, we will use the ethnographic method supported by participant observation, using informal and semi-structured interviews, in order to describe the fishermen's perception of the socio-environmental impacts caused by exogenous actions that degraded the fishing space. We will also describe the economic, social and cultural importance of that ecosystem to the community, since as the environment is being compromised by the intense urbanization process fishermen fear for the extinction of fishing activity in the lake. It was verified to the research that the human intervention directly reached the water and the fish of the lake transforming this social process into a socioenvironmental problem that directly affected the modus vivendi of the fishermen who survive from fishing in the lake.

  • The state of Pará, which has an incalculable mineral wealth, despite having an important role in national economic development, occupies one of the worst positions in regional development. In light of this problem, to address the State's mineral potential for the country's economic growth, highlighting the incoherence of such wealth does not contribute to the development of the region, it is at least curious when Article 20, §1 of CF / 88 serves exactly as an instrument of collaboration of the regional growth compensating financially the mineral exploitation suffered, that when it collects can be used in the elaboration of public policies in favor of the social development. Given this possibility, this work, through the documentary analysis of the process of regularization of the Creporizão Garimpo and the guiding legal precepts, proposes to analyze the issues that arose as a hindrance to the effective collection of the CFEM in the municipality of Itaituba during the legalization period of the activity, observing later the measures adopted to change the scenario. Defending as a methodological approach the need to evaluate the historical context that this change was established, based on the yearnings of society for economic development linked to social development.

  • The development theme has undergone several transformations over time, which have resulted in the breakdown of conceptual paradigms and the way of constructing public policies, spreading new theoretical and methodological perceptions. With this, and due to the redemocratization and administrative political decentralization, the territorial development policy is established in Brazil, and along with it, spaces of social concertation are implemented, among them, the Territorial Development Collegiate Baixo Amazonas, State of Pará, with the intention of analyzing its role as a deliberation space, as well as its importance in strengthening public policies aimed at territorial development, considering mainly the recent economic political scenario and the weakening of territorial politics. For this, the methodological view of historical and dialectical Materialism, the bibliographical research, documentary and non-directional interviews applied to the directive members of this Collegiate is used, providing results that will be treated according to the content analysis. This research will provide contributions to the academic literature and greater discernment of public entities and organized civil society, regarding the role of the Collegiate, the characterization of its historical process of construction and effectiveness, the diagnosis of the difficulties and challenges faced in the conduct of its actions, verification of policies implemented, and present the current context of territorial development policy in this sense.

  • This dissertation has as its theme "restorative justice and social conflicts involving quilombola communities of Santarém: a case study in the quilombos of Murumuru and Murumurutuba", aiming to investigate the conditions, possibilities and achievements of consensual interventions based on conceptions and procedures of restorative justice in scenarios of socio-environmental conflict in the Brazilian Amazon, particularly in broad contexts of quilombola communities in western Pará. This paper aims to provide a social and scientific contribution to the institution of services and structures specifically designed to work conflicts that involve community issues that can be administered without the recurrence to the judicialization, as is often the case of conflicts involving traditional communities in the Amazon region. It is believed that restorative principles and practices can favor the opening universes of locution in community spaces by seeking to include all those interested in a given social-environmental conflict, through dialogic, inclusive and parity processes, as well as by stimulating the development of respect for otherness, mutual recognition and a sense of individual and collective responsibility, democratizing the decision-making processes in the face of situations of conflict experienced within quilombola communities, whether of endogenous or exogenous origin.

  • Disorganized urbanization consequently brings with it several social problems linked to the socio-spatial exclusion process. The emergence of exclusion clusters is a reflection of the process of social segregation where the geographical spaces have a characteristic and proper occupation, making clear the separation between the social classes present in our society (fragmentation of the socio-spatial fabric). These areas arose from spontaneous occupation, this process is often not accompanied by infrastructure and basic services, thus increasing the process of social exclusion of these localities. Through these two processes that occur concomitantly - urbanization / segregation - there is an intensification of social problems such as increased crime. The phenomenon of crime has gained more and more visibility in recent years, as it becomes more present in our daily lives. This problematic brings with it the need to understand the spatial behavior of this phenomenon, as well as its determinants / determinants, to think of a planning that will help public policies that aim to minimize the effects of this process of increasing crime. It is understood that the Geography of Crime can contribute to the socio-spatial analysis of crime, using methods such as geoprocessing and statistical analysis, showing the pattern of distribution of crime robbery, robbery, homicide and drug trafficking. Thus, this research has as objectives: (1) to organize a database that typifies the occurrence of crimes in the Municipality of Santarém in the years 2016 and 2017; (2) investigate the determinants of crimes, grouping them into crimes against property - theft and robbery - crimes against the person - murder - and drug trafficking; (3) identify how the spatial distribution of crimes along the urban space and its relation to the characteristics of the urban space. Thus, through the criminal analysis will occur the construction of knowledge and a database on crime patterns and their correlations with socio-spatial aspects. Such research aims at assisting in the planning of repressive and preventive actions of criminal acts. Thus, through data analysis and mapping of occurrences of robbery, robbery, homicide and drug trafficking (hotspot) we intend to support the efforts made by the police and other bodies responsible for public safety, providing information on the trends, constraints and crime indicators, data that can guide managers in the planning, execution and redirection of actions of the public security system, contributing to the improvement of the distribution of resources - human and material - and implementations of crime prevention programs.

  • Crimes have always been faced in a merely retributive perspective, in which it was only aimed at the punishment of the criminal with an imposition of the penalty, which was not able to settle the conflicts between the people. In the State of Pará, the Integrated Peace Pro Unit (UIPP), a public policy in the field of public security adopted in the last 8 years, foresees that disputes of lesser offensive potential will be conducted by a mediator, avoiding the process and privileging the agreement. Thus, this new approach, with participatory and pacifying bias, could not escape a scientific observation regarding its practices and results achieved. A case study with quantitative analysis was the methodology chosen to guide the evaluation of primary and secondary data, in order to demonstrate the effects obtained by the Center for Conflict Mediation (NUMEC) of a UIPP located in the city of Santarém. The bibliographical revision was also favored as a way of supporting the understanding of this new paradigm in implantation. At the end, through the tabulation of the data surveyed, it was verified the efficiency of the UIPP program in its reliever purpose, without forgetting its users' qualitative perception about it.

  • The main objective of this study is to identify how the resettlement process of families impacted by the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Power Plant took place, based on the scenario of Ilha do Triunfo, an old island located near Altamira, in the state of Pará, which was completely flooded with the implementation of the plant. Starting from this objective, the research is divided into three specific objectives: To understand the land use planning process carried out at the Belo Monte Plant; to understand the public policies implemented, highlighting the energy and social policies; and to consider the process of implementing the social public policies that involve the resettled people of Belo Monte. In order to achieve these objectives, this observation is theoretically structured on the geographic conceptual theme of territory, territorial planning and public policies, reflecting also on the conception of identity values that are constituted in space from the collectivity; as well as on the public policies that cover Belo Monte, highlighting energy and social policies. Also, it presents the panoramas identified in the on-site research, debating and discussing with each one of those involved in the Belo Monte hydroelectric dam, going through companies, governments, social movements, organizations and the riverside dwellers themselves. In view of this, this research is anchored in the method of Dialectical Materialism, understanding the essence of phenomena, their historicity and the social conflicts based on the unity of the opposites. The research technique used was the Discourse Analysis (AD), taking into account the ideas of Pêcheux, therefore, is a qualitative research, which is presented through bibliographic research, documentary and field, with the conduct of field research in the municipality of Altamira, effective through the application of interviews and questionnaires to stakeholders, generating a reflection from the public policies implemented and directed mainly to riparian populations, aiming to minimize the effects to these resettled people of the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Plant.

  • Domestic and family violence against women is a theme that requires special attention in the current context of Brazilian society. In recent years this phenomenon has continued to rise, even though the state has devised ways to curb and punish aggressors. However, only the punishment of the aggressor, in the view of Retributive Justice (JR), may not be enough to satisfy the needs of the victim who has experienced domestic and family violence against women. Therefore, looking at JR approaches to dealing with this gap is a real alternative for managing conflicts, preventing and addressing situations of domestic violence. The present work aims to promote a dialogue with the servants who work daily with victims and offenders in the Domestic Violence and Family Violence against Women in the municipality of Santarém / Pa, with the general objective of analyzing the perceptions that the servers of this court have about JR. The specific objectives are to describe the servers' understanding of the JR; identify how JR influences the professional practice of servers; and to know the feelings developed by the servers regarding the implementation of the JR in the court. The methodology used will be a qualitative field research, being divided into stages of bibliographic review on the subject, of survey and analysis of empirical information of the servers of the Rod of Domestic Violence and Against Women of Santarém through semi-structured interviews, in an ethnographic perspective according to Claude Lévi-Strauss. The results found in this perspective were that the concept of JR in the perception of the servants of the stick promotes a place of safe listening so that the members of the restorative circles can express their emotions without fear, without judgments and without the thought that this In this sense, working with the methodology of JR brought to the servants researched a new positive vision for their work because they were able to perceive the emotional maturation of this practice can provide the involved ones, developing in the same feelings of gratitude, positivity, and joy as they work with JR. An important point to emphasize in the considerations was the liveliness with which the female servants unanimously stated that the JR can be applied to domestic and family violence against women in cases where voluntariness is present and the benefits to the people involved are repairers.

With regard to the methodological procedures of data collection, we used bibliographic research, documentary research, field research and iconographic research, guided by semi-structured interviews, ordered by forms with open questions. In the speeches of the actors of the research different conceptions of popular culture were evidenced, since in their view the popular culture is generational, the habits and customs cultivated by the man passes from father to son. This research provided a specific knowledge about the relationship that was established between the man of the field and its culture, the relationship between the environment and its production spaces, providing a better understanding of the dynamics between the environment and its production capacity. The MEB helped the rural man in his educational formation, from his need to educate himself to life in community, using the radio to spread knowledge and to reduce the illiteracy index that existed in the Amazonian communities in that period.

  • This is an anthropological study about gold mining in the Amazon, an economic front that from the 1960s represented the country's largest gold rush. This fact goes beyond the economic dimension, in practice, has promoted the attraction of large groups of workers, together with their families to dedicate themselves to this work and impress on the cities of the region deep territorial, cultural and demographic transformations. The research reflects the social dynamics inherent in the social formation of the garimpeira in the Brazilian Amazon and aims to understand how the memories of the garimpeiros are reconstituted from the notion of reciprocity in gender relations, taking as focal reference the idea of hegemonic masculinity in Amazonian garimpos. Based on the methodological bases of ethnography and life history, the analyzes are based on the social memory and the trajectories narrated by the workers who lived the concrete experience of acting in this activity and who currently live in Santarém, Pará, municipality locus da research given to the fact that it is one of the main investment centers and fixation of residence of the prospectors in previous years. The masculine values of masculinity were identified as courage, restraint of emotions, hardness, honor and generosity as structuring in the social relations of the garimpeiras and encampados under the native category "goat-male". It was noticed that the sociabilities established in the space of work and conspicuous consumption practices promoted by garimpeiros with action awareness, with strategies and different scenarios to trigger the ideal predicates of the notion of man in the garimpo. In the context of the work, the way to obtain distinction and respect as a man is not to complain about the service and not to grow back in the face of the hard days in the bass. As for conspicuous consumption, this is part of an ample gift system, which regulates and constitutes personal ties and is important in the representation of the masculine ideal of the garimpeiros, who, by demonstrating to themselves, and by publicly executing the payment of large expenses in the brothels of the corrutelas at the same time, they generate approximations through camaraderie and rivalries among social equals, who at another moment must show generosity in consumption in order to acquire the signs of distinction.

  • This dissertation is a historical study about immigration, living and resignification of Jews in Óbidos, state of Pará, in the twentieth century. For over a century, Jewish immigrants have been marginalized as historical beings both in the midst of local history and the resignified mosaic of Jewish practices. A historical outline of the immigration course was made, correlating the reasons for this movement to the Amazon, the burden of lived experiences, economic and social mobility. The literature of Benchimol (1998), Veltman (2005), Heller (2008), Grinberg (2008), Bentes (1987) and Lins (2010) endorsed discussions of Jewish presence in the regional and local context. Through qualitative research and methodology of Oral History, it was possible to access sources such as: memory, archival and personal document, newspaper, photography, documentary and monument, which contained variants of the historical process built in the city. The orality was collected through semi-structured interview, having audio recorder and field diary as material supports. Family history has been described in the form of genealogy, highlighting similarities and contrasts. The different economic arrangements have influenced levels of social mobility, with remnants visible to this day, highlighting that two of the three Brazil nut industries of Calha Norte are Jewish, and Óbidos. As for sociability, these Jews intertwined in revolution, revealed the empowerment of a Jewess, and left historical traces in geographical strongholds and monuments such as a cemetery, congregation synagogue, various buildings, and a neoclassical mansion. It was revealed how the Jewish following was resignified, formulating a rapport and strengthening of these subjects as a group. They organized a Jewish community, celebrated the main Easter, ritualized their dead, leaving behind social fabric and symbols of resistance from Judaism. These immigrants impregnated in local society a historical and inseparable identity captured by the work, capital and services provided through the professionalism of their descendants. May this study subtract marginalization and deactivate the oblivion with which these Jewish immigrants have been subjugated for over a century as social subjects and participants in local history in the city of Óbidos. May your struggles, stories and memories receive fullness and historical visibility.

  • The Jamanxim National Forest (FNJ), created by Presidential Decree no. Of February 13, 2006, with 1,301,120 hectares of extension and insertion area in the municipality of Novo Progresso in the State of Pará, is located in a region of relevant biodiversity of the Amazon biome. It is no coincidence that it was inserted among the actions of the “Sustainable Forest District of BR-163” (DFS) along with other conservation units, thus forming a large protective mosaic of the Amazon. However, the research reveals, in light of the problematic issues surrounding the UC, that predominantly economic interests interfere with its effective implementation. As an example, there is Bill 8.107 / 2017, aimed at dismembering 26.45% of the FNJ area to create an Environmental Protection Area (APA). This legislative instrument violates a basic principle of ecológica constitutional law: the prohibition of environmental setback. Thus, under a legal bias, but not only, and concatenated to the factual reality, since we dialogue with methodological support of critical theory, we give visibility to this principle, given its systemic character, which demands a joint and dialogic reading of norms, integrants of a vast normative mosaic of environmental law in Brazil. The paradigmatic case of the FNJ will allow us to analyze the importance of compliance with the principle, since, in our view, it is a criterion for the protection of human dignity. From this perspective, a critical presentation of the historical process involving the creation of the UC is made, highlighting the notorious factors that threaten its environmental conservation. It also evaluates the main environmental axiological normative references, related to the foundation of the duty not to regress the environmental achievements already achieved in the treated area, emphasizing the fundamental right to the environmental good. Finally, the case of FNJ is characterized as a typical ineffective environmental management for the Amazon region, due to disrespect to the mentioned principle. For this discussion we adopted the theoretical framework embodied in the eminently bibliographical and documentary research, with an additional field visit. This time, the study intends to instigate the reflection on the delayed and archaic Government perception of development for the Amazon, from the case of the FNJ, in order to trigger a dangerous precedent of environmental degradation to other PAs.

  • This dissertation discusses social and environmental conflicts between ballads (latex extractors extracted from Manilkara bidentta) on one hand, and state environmental agencies on the other, who have been involved in a judicial process to regulate the access and use of the Flota do Paru. The judicialization of relations constitutes a strategy of the ballads to overcome the environment of social and legal invisibility to which they were submerged for decades and to guarantee the continuous access to the work area. The discussions take place within the scope of the bidding process for the forest concession within the referred Flota. From the documentary, bibliographical and empirical analysis of the observed issues we aim to analyze the relationships involving work, nature and social and environmental rights that have been occurring between Balateiros, State and concessionaires of logging, in the area of Flota do Paru, which focuses on the municipality. of Monte Alegre - PA. It is a qualitative research that used the case study as an appropriate methodological approach to deepen the analysis of the social process in evidence. This process has highlighted the complexity of applying environmental legislation and the recognition of their cultural rights to enjoy the historically constructed workspace. The social process analyzed uses by reference: legislation, archival documents and field experiences. As a result, interrelations involving ballads, artisans and forests are a model of sustainability based on local knowledge about the dynamics of the forest that are reproduced from complex relationships between man and the environment. For balateiros, balatais represent, concomitantly, their work environments and address. The analysis of the case allows us to conclude that the struggles for access and use of natural resources in environmental protection areas, puts different actors in the arena of dispute not only for resources, but also for the territory, since it carries with it the possibility of appropriation and expropriation. from nature. Moreover, in these disputes traditional groups and populations are seen as obstacles to the sustainable development model defended by the State, which conceives this model as predominantly directed to the industrial scale of exploitation of natural resources.

  • The process of building and defending human rights undeniably begins from the experiences of individuals regarding the recognition of a right. So much so, that an express violation of prerogative reflects differently on those who are affected and, therefore, indicate different ways of approaching the law. Therefore, knowing that knowledge is an elementary instrument of this protection, and that any form it manifests is essential for understanding the means by which the defense of the rights of the person must take place, knowing that the presence of a qualified professional is indispensable, that acts in defense of the prerogatives having in mind beyond the normative burden, any other elements that characterize the problem to be solved and represent a suitable means of interpretation to the social context, that this work addresses the special attention that must be given to the formation of these professionals. . Thus, the present research sought to investigate how and to what extent, educational institutions would be able to insert in the most diverse academic realities the appropriate methodology to operationalize the practical humanistic formation of the future law operator. More than that, who would be the protagonist in this process of presentation of formation to the students of the law courses in the university. To this end, the study aimed primarily to analyze the role of the teacher in the construction of humanist training in the law course of the Federal University of Western Pará - UFOPA, presenting clinical education in human rights as a methodology suitable for teaching not only theoretically, but also in a practical way. To specifically achieve its objectives, this research first analyzed the history of legal education in Brazil, in the modernity and postmodernity, approached the experience of the human rights clinic lived at UFOPA to finally take care of knowing the experience of teachers in didactics used by them in the classroom while questioning the possibility of applying the methodology of clinical education as the most effective way of teaching approach within the university. Therefore, the approach of the problem was effected by the inductive method, using the bibliographic research, proceeding to the accurate study of the published material on the subject. As research method the field research and the qualitative approach, guided under the focus of dialectical historical materialism. A semi-structured interview was conducted that followed a script of open questions. As an ethical procedure, the Informed Consent Form was adopted. The collected data were analyzed in text form, through the analysis of the written discourse, which allowed to verify the methodological interweaving between the teaching didactics approached here and the conduct of the teacher in the classroom and in the spaces outside the university. This form of analysis allowed us to apprehend the preference of didactics that still permeate the banking education model criticized by Paulo Freire, and the little incentive on the part of the institution to promote means that support the practice of teaching methodologies different from those with which the teacher You are used to it.

  • This research aimed to evaluate the economic impact of community and family forest management on the PDS Virola Jatobá settlement project, located in the municipality of Anapú-Pa, contextualizing the inclusive wealth provided by public policies on land access and economic use of goods. common in collective settlement projects. This study is justified because the Federal Community and Family Forestry Management Program (PMCF) faces internal and external difficulties in its implementation due to its high costs and complexity, in contrast to the low technical and organizational capacity of beneficiaries to manage large enterprises in a scenario of land invasion and land grabbing in settlement projects. The lack of measurement and accounting of public funds disposed of to the beneficiary communities is also reflected in the lack of transparency and control. The research was conducted through a bibliographic and documentary survey, which raised data that allowed us to measure the value of bare land, biological assets, forest product stock and expenses incurred to move this wealth. The survey results allowed us to assess the economic impacts of logging by identifying the viability of forest management along the lines of the PMCF. However, the scenario involving conflicts, invasion, land grabbing and illegal deforestation caused a 3.96% loss in PDS Virola's wealth. Jatobá during the three years of logging at UPA 06/2015.
