The State of knowledge about full-time integral education: the academic productions of the UFOPA post graduate education program

This paper presents data from a research in progress, in which a state of knowledge is made, listing the research from the Federal University of Western Pará - UFOPA, carried out under the Academic Cooperation Program - PROCAD, which includes UNICAMP. , UNIR and UFOPA. Such research deals with policies that induce integral education, such as the More Education Program - PME and the Innovative High School Program - PROEMI. It aims to analyze the conceptions of integral education of the dissertations defended in the scope of PROCAD, from 2016 to 2018. It is a descriptive research, conducted through bibliographical and documentary analysis. It is based on the reflections CAVALIERE (2014) about integral education, in which the individual is treated “as a complex and indivisible being”, we also have the contributions of GADOTTI (2009), who argues that in integral education “there is commitment to integral formation of the individual in cultural, ethical, cognitive, aesthetic and political aspects ”. Regarding the concepts of politics, we consider the studies HOFLING (2001) that conceives of “education as a politics of social cut”. It was verified, from the reading of the dissertations summaries, that the Program more Education and the Innovative High School Program are described as public policies that induce integral education, which unify actions that benefit the school community. However, from the experiences described by the dissertations, we find that such programs need a wide discussion, because they have gaps that prevent the smooth running of activities. The analysis of the texts shows that, although there is discussion related to the theme of integral education, there are still conceptions that do not agree with its premises. The authors' report emphasizes that, although we have made progress in the intellectual development of students, there is still a need for adjustments, especially regarding the conception of integral education. Research has also highlighted the importance of considering the context in which we operate and that the western region of Pará contains specificities that should be considered. Considering all these aspects, the research described is extremely important to broaden the debate on integral education, given that those involved in it are not clear about their concepts.
