BETWEEN THE CLASSROOM AND THE RIVER: DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES AS EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION INSTRUMENT IN THE AMAZON

This research focuses on technologies in the proposal for environmental education in the Solimões village and in the Aracampina community in Santarém-Pará, with an emphasis on understanding the training roles fulfilled in the context of monitoring fisheries and water quality. In this sense, it analyzes the Citizen Science Project for the Amazon, developed by the “Wildlife Conservation Society”, in particular, as activities involving theuse of the water application of Ictio cell phone in the observation of fish migration and Foldscope, paper microscope for microbiological analysis gives . In Santarém, the resources were used by students and teachers at Escola São Sebastião and Nossa Senhora das Graças, in the Aracampina and Aldeia Solimões communities, respectively. Thus, it observes the participation of students in educational practices linked to the project inside and outside the classroom, describing how training actions supported by technologies with respect to environmental education, identifying the meaning of experiences involving the process of monitoring fisheries for the lives of participants and analyzing the impact of the Citizen Science Project for the Amazon, taking into account its objectives and contributions to the communities served. At the methodological level, it is characterized as a qualitative research with a descriptive character, guided by the perspectives of the case study and ethnography, with a view to analyzing the limits and possibilities of the experiences within the scope of the Science for Citizenship Project.
