PIECES OF A STORY: CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE LABORATORY OF MATHEMATICAL APPLICATIONS (LAPMAT) OF UFOPA TO MATHEMATICS EDUCATION, IN THE WEST REGION OF PARÁ
History of Mathematics. History of Mathematics Education. Mathematics Teaching Laboratory. Teacher training.
The History of Mathematics Education converges with the professional training of teachers who need to understand the legacies that accompany their work over the years and present in their practices. Establishing a historical relationship with professional practices carried out in the past tends to develop current best practices aimed at producing efficient forms of teaching and learning, on a permanent basis. In this context, UFOPA stands out as a regional reference in the production of studies and research on Mathematics Teaching, in particular, in the development of projects that aim to contribute to teacher training. Because they do not have records and memories of the activities carried out, some projects remain anonymous, as is the case with the actions carried out at LAPMAT. This work seeks to investigate which actions were developed in the period from 2009 to 2020 at UFOPA's LAPMAT and what were the contributions, resulting from these actions, to Mathematics Education, in the western region of Pará. This is a qualitative research, configuring as documentary research and elements of narrative research and oral history. It also has aspects of a case study, bringing together a variety of information for analysis, based on a record of testimonies, through questionnaires and interviews. The aim is to identify the actions that were developed in the selected period, through the scientific record of the training actions and the survey of the actions carried out, in addition to verifying the contributions of such actions, carried out by LAPMAT, to Mathematics Education in the region. What is currently developed in Mathematics will be an integral part of the History of Mathematics in that environment and it is this History that will guide future teachers, since mathematics has its development in a procedural way and is developed based on its own History and, therefore, it needs to be part of discussions between training spaces.
