This work is linked to Postgraduate Program in Education-PPGE, to Reading and Intervention in
Children's and Young People's Literature at School Study Group – Lelit, of Universidade Federal
do Oeste do Pará-Ufopa, is part of the research line Knowledge and Training in Education
School. The aim of the research is to investigate and analyze the reasons the permanence of a
library in Municipal School of Early Childhood Education e Elementary School Nossa Senhora
do Livramento, in Quilombo Saracura, Santarém-Pará. To understand how circulation occurs of
reading in Quilombo, adopted the methodological procedure of action research, based on
Franco (2005), with the participation community members, transformation is sought the local
reality collectively, to analyze the difficulties due to which the process of implementation
reading projects becomes very difficult in Quilombo. It stands out as a theoretical basis Saviani
(2018); Britto (2016); Adorno (2005); Candido (2011) e Santos (2016).
