Ufopa, affirmative Actions, Indigenous Higher Education
The Affirmative Actions Policy of the Federal University of Oeste do Pará, established by Resolution No. 200 of the Higher Council for Teaching, Research and Graduate Studies (CONSEPE), based on Law No. 12.711/2012 on the reservation of places for students in higher education, is another institutional action based on the principles established in article 5º of the Ufopa Statute. This policy aims to promote access, quality of stay and completion of undergraduate and graduate courses offered by the institution to different groups, including those of indigenous ethnicities. Five years after the implementation of this policy, it is necessary to analyze its practical results, from the point of view of its target audience. This research aims to verify the effectiveness of the Policy of Affirmative Actions and Promotion of Ethnic Racial Equality at Ufopa, from the perspective of indigenous students, also identifying problems and challenges experienced during the academic journey of these students. This is a research that will include a mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative), with the use of bibliographic and documentary research, in addition to the application of questionnaires to indigenous students entering the Special Indigenous Selective Process - PSEI, from 2011 to 2022. Dialectical Historical Materialism was used as a theoretical model of foundation, with the use of categories that will allow the analysis from the perspective of data triangulation. The study is in the phase of consolidating the theoretical framework, and preparing to collect data from indigenous students.
