DEAF PATHS IN HIGHER EDUCATION IN SANTARÉM-PA

This research aims to analyze the educational trajectory of deaf undergraduate students at universities in Santarém - Pará through their testimonies. This proposal emerged from the experience lived as a deaf person in schools and higher education, in which we realized that despite the efforts we still have a long way to go in terms of providing education for the deaf, in order to meet their linguistic specificities. Thus, the research problem is: How was the educational trajectory of education for the deaf in undergraduate courses at universities in Santarém- Pará. For this, the following specific objectives stand out: Identifying, based on the reports of the deaf, the pedagogical practices developed for their inclusion process in higher education; point out the advances reported by students regarding the inclusion of deaf people in universities; Highlight the main difficulties presented by deaf students for their schooling process in higher education. This is a qualitative research, in which interviews with a semi-structured script will be carried out with 8 deaf people, who have completed graduation, in order to understand their schooling process. This research will be of great relevance, as it will highlight the work carried out at universities in the interior of the Amazon, regarding practices with deaf students, as well as bringing important reflections to think about new paths for the education of the deaf.
