SUMMARY:

Environmental Education (EE) plays a fundamental role in building sustainable societies, especially when articulated with the social, cultural, and ecological contexts in which people are embedded. In Conservation Units (CUs), the school assumes strategic relevance in mediating the care of natural resources with the local community. This is a field study, interdisciplinary, and aims to analyze the pedagogical practices of EE in a school located in the Piquiatuba Community, in the Tapajós National Forest (PA). The target audience is educators (manager, pedagogical coordinator, teachers) and students. The approach method is quantitative-qualitative, and the instruments are semi-structured interviews. It is expected that the results will contribute to the field of EE by highlighting the role of the school as a protagonist and mediator between traditional communities and conservation policies, as well as offering theoretical and methodological support for the improvement of educational practices in environmental protection areas.
