Festribal; Cultural practices; Popular knowledge; Indigenous culture.
The Municipality of Juruti, in the west of Pará, hosts and holds the Folklore Festival of the Indigenous Tribes, Festribal, a cultural event that has been taking place since 1995, with two folk groups competing, the Muirapinima Tribe and the Munduruku Tribe. Currently, the event is considered one of the biggest cultural events in the Amazon region. In this sense, the present research has as its scientific question the following problematizing question: the aesthetic-cultural elements that occur in the cultural event Folkloric Festival of the Indigenous Tribes of Juruti is an environment for the production of knowledge and cultural practices that implies the valorization and preservation of culture from the Municipality? Based on the scientific question that guides our investigations, we adopted as the main objective of the research to investigate the aesthetic-cultural elements that occur in the cultural event Festival Folclorico das Tribos de Juruti to attest whether it is an environment for the production of knowledge and cultural practices that implies the valorization and preservation of the municipality's culture, especially the cultures of the indigenous peoples that make up the names of the associations. This study is expected to identify and characterize possible local cultural manifestations related to Festribal, which implies carrying out a municipal cultural mapping, which allows an understanding of local cultural factors and their relationship with Festribal. The study, in the end, could serve as input for other research related to the topic. The research also includes the production of a portfolio with the history of Festribal plus the identification of which cultural policies still need to be developed to improve the quality of the event and which require further implementation.
