SUMMARY:

The relationship between man and nature has not always been or will be harmonious, but it is crucial to understand the degree of consonance that exists between them. In this conjunction, it is important to know the culture of the people and the animals included in it to assist in environmental education measures and species conservation. In this context, accidents caused by venomous animals constitute an object of attention of great relevance to the health area. These occurrences happen both in urban areas of cities and in the countryside, but it is in rural areas that they occur more frequently. Populations in these regions have their own way of treating diseases, so it is necessary to study and record cases. In view of this, the objective of this work is to develop a study of the survey of the epidemiological profile of accidents caused by venomous animals in the community of Ipaupixuna, rural area of the municipality of Santarém, with attention focused on the way in which these diseases are treated by the community. In this sense, it is expected to generate content for the elaboration of programs and public policies aimed at prophylaxis, environmental education and indication of the most appropriate measures to minimize accidents with these animals in this region.
