SUMMARY:

Açaí is a fruit commercially consumed as juice, known as wine by traditional communities, especially in rural areas, being a drink much appreciated in the Amazon. In the last ten years, consumption has expanded nationally and internationally, increasing the demand for installations and new plantations, as well as the agro-extractive network organization. Thus, at local communities of family-based producers, açaí has a fundamental role, as, in addition to food, it represents one of alternative sources of income for agro-extractivists in areas with occurrences of native açaí groves. Most extractivists still adopt the traditional manual harvesting system using a footrest, known as “peconha”. Face to this reality, this work aims to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the use of agrotechnologies in the process of harvesting and post-harvesting the fruit of Euterpe oleracea Mart. by agroextractivists in the Murumuru community. In this community, which is a recognized quilombola territory, it is located 45 km from the city of Santarém, in the state of Pará, on Maicá Lake. In field activities, actions will be carried out such as rounds of conversations, observations to get to know and understand how populations act in the harvest and post-harvest process in açaí trees in each harvest. Technicalparticipatory meetings will be held to obtain insights and validations of the agrotechnologies tested during the master's work. The project will be registered on the Brazil platform with evaluation by the UFOPA ethics committee. Data collection from the açaí harvest will be carried out using three different methods: the traditional method and two innovative methods using specific tools developed for the collection of açaí both to collect the bunches (harvest phase) and to thresh the fruits (post phase -harvest). The two technological models were developed by inventors from Pará with intellectual property of the inventions, one in Tucurui and the other in Abaeteutuba. It is expected to gather around 50 participants in the research in the following categories: young people, adults, including separating men and women to account for variables such as harvest time, difficulties in the post-harvest process, quantity collected, daily total of cans collected, among others. other variables. Subsequently, the data will be analyzed using statistical methods capable of pointing out the best decision strategies regarding the adoption of new technologies, ability to adapt to new processes and degree of satisfaction with the tools used. The results of the dissertation are expected to provide results capable of benefiting not only the community of Murumuru, but also serving as a technological showcase for other communities in Maicá to improve safety during the practice of extraction and threshing of açaí by agro-extractivists in the region.
