AREA: Ciências Ambientais
SUMMARY:

Traditional peoples play a special symbiotic role with vegetation, utilizing, preserving, and protecting it to ensure their cultural, social, religious, ancestral, and economic sustainability. However, ethnobotanical studies in this region are still scarce due to the vast expanse of the forest and the diversity of populations. Therefore, it is crucial to conduct systematic research to gather the empirical knowledge of these communities, as both nature and culture are constantly evolving. Ethnobotany plays a crucial role in cataloging and studying the plants used, as well as preserving the cultural heritage of these communities. Its role is also relevant in understanding the dynamics of use, conservation, and preservation of these environments, assisting in the development of targeted public policies. The objective of this study is to conduct an ethnobotanical survey in the community of Suruacá through semi-structured interviews to identify the species used, including their medicinal, culinary, artisanal, and other uses.
