SUMMARY:

The objective of this work is to analyze the floristic composition, structure and dynamics of the natural regenerative woody stratum of a floodplain forest. In the Arapixuna district area, Santarém-PA, ten plots of 10 x 10 m were demarcated, where the individuals and their respective species were identified, grouped into size categories (RNC) and according to the type of life form. Woody regenerating species with a height of 50 cm to 3 m were measured, depending on the height, the diameter at breast height (DBH) or diameter at collar height (DAC) less than 10 cm. The following were calculated: density and relative frequency; size category; total natural influences; and diversity. The vertical and horizontal structure was analyzed to calculate the natural vegetation and quantify the forest's biomass. A total of 447 individuals, 7 species, 13 genera and 13 botanical families were registered. Families: Fabaceae and Myrtaceae, represented 64.26% of the total (447) of individuals collected, being the families with the highest abundance of species. The species: Schizolobium amazonicum Huber ex Ducke, Gustavia augusta L., Ouratea sp. and Cassia leiandra Benth were the ones that stood out the most in this study, showing great importance for the plant community and diversities that allow its establishment. Therefore, these measures are important in understanding the role of the regenerative stratum in biogeochemical cycles, especially in carbon fixation, thus generating income for better management of these areas and management of resources and services that standing forests can produce.
