SUMMARY:

The solution to the conflict over water requires an integrated and shared management of its use, control, conservation, as well as the preservation of spring areas. This management must be carried out holistically, in a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary way. In the thesis pro-ject, the objective is to analyze indicators of efficient use of water in Agriculture under climat-ic conditions in the Brazilian Amazon and Mozambique, Africa. To assess the conditions of water supply and risks in hydrographic basins in the Amazon, in the municipality of Santarém, in western Pará, Brazil and in the municipality of Maputo, on the African continent, important centers of agricultural production. To simulate potential risks, the Aqueduct Water Risk meth-odology was used to estimate water risks in these municipalities, considering current climate conditions and climate change scenarios. It was found that this tool has high applicability po-tential, indicating that in the watershed that supplies Santarém the water risk is in the low-medium range, but in Maputo the risks were considered high, evidently that these results are associated with the hydrographic condition of the analyzed basin. When analyzing the regula-tory and reputational risk, the two municipalities present a high risk. To point out a possible irrigation agrotechnologies for family-based farmers, data were analyzed in a technological reference unit (URT) installed in the community of Lavras, in the municipality of Santarém, which uses rainwater in the irrigation process with clay pots buried in the soil. , mainly to as-sess the potential of replicability to vegetable producers in the Infulene valley in Mozambique. Field activities such as the use of near-infrared thermography were carried out to assess the responses of the water condition in the irrigated soil and in non-irrigated areas outside the URT. In addition to the activities carried out in Santarém, a test was carried out in Maputo to identify the difficulties that could occur and/or the facilities, including as a way of populariz-ing this agrotechnology. It is concluded that it is possible to use decision support tools to sup-port the strategic planning of water use in agriculture. Social agrotechnologies with reuse of rainwater in irrigation and clay pots buried in the ground can be replicated in Maputo, due to the simplicity of the clay artifacts and materials used in the irrigation process. The efficient use of water in agriculture demands technical information, environmental responsibility in the irri-gation of agricultural crops, low-cost technology to be adopted by family-based farmers glob-ally in any region with the same demands and supplies of raw materials to guarantee the water supply to agricultural crops.
