Encouraging cattle ranching was one of the strategies aimed at integrating the Amazon, attracting entrepreneurs to the region at the time of the military government. Extensive deforested areas, often inadequate pasture management, have over the years left an environmental liability with low herd yields and strong indicators of soil degradation. In order to guarantee the maintenance of animal protein production, different arrangements have been tested in an integrated livestock system. The incorporation of the tree component into the rural property has indicated different sustainability indicators, i.e. economic, social and environmental, which provide environmental services in terms of provision, regulation, culture and the environment.  The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the sustainability indicators in a Technological Reference Unit (TRU) in a silvopastoral system. The TRU was set up in 2010 containing three homogeneous plots, made up of the following forest species: Bertholletia excelsa, Dipteryx odorata, Khaya grandifoliola, interspersed with plots of full sun pasture (Panicum maximum cv. Mombaça). Among the indicators observed, near-infrared thermography showed that there was a positive and direct correlation with the dendrometric variables, indicating that in the silvopastoral system there was greater thermal ringing in the plot with K. grandifoliola when compared to the values diagnosed in the full-sun pasture, thus providing an environmental service of thermal regulation in the system. Microclimatic environmental quality can be explained by the greater presence of cattle in the plots with the tree species at times of intense solar radiation, indicating greater thermal comfort for the animals. It was found that the plots with integrated cultivation of B. excelsa + pasture and K. grandifoliola + pasture were the greatest attenuators of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. It was confirmed that the highest GHG emissions occur in areas with degraded pasture, even intensifying in the rainiest periods, with CH4 flows being more significant in the plots with degraded pasture and integration with K. grandifoliola. An indicator of the sustainability of the integrated system is that the tree component reduced GHG emissions over 10 years with the presence of the system. The partnership between farmers, researchers and students points to a high potential for consolidating sustainable agriculture in the Amazon. The presence of two native species and one exotic signals that degraded livestock areas in the Amazon can be converted into production systems with greater added value on the market, as B. excelsa and D. odorata not only reduce GHG emissions, but also the high bioeconomic potential of these species native to the region, combined with the benefits of K. grandifoliola in the silvopastoral system. Evidence of the benefits of the livestock production system was also expressed by soil and biophysical indicators for the tree component, based on information extracted from the normalized vegetation index (NVI). It is concluded that the silvopastoral system provides indicators that can be monitored and traced in the soil-plant-atmosphere system in the Amazon.
