In the last decades, the population increase and the various anthropic activities have gradually contributed to the degradation of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, and in this process the excessive use of pesticides / pesticides stands out because they contaminate the soil, surface and underground waters, thus reaching many organisms non-targets. To assist in environmental quality studies, ecotoxicology has developed several test methods using test organisms sensitive to contaminants. The present work aims to evaluate the viability of the species Colossoma macropomum as a test organism for use in ecotoxicological tests. Different batches of fingerlings of the species C. macropomum will be used, and for each batch of test organisms repetitions of the sensitivity test will be performed, where the fingerlings will be exposed to different concentrations of the reference substance potassium dichromate (Kr2Cr2O7). After the sensitivity tests, acute toxicity tests will be carried out, using five chemical substances: imidacloprid, glyphosate, deltamethrin, chlorpyrifos and atrazine, one toxicant at a time for each batch of test organism. The means of the LC50-96H of each sensitivity test will be used for the elaboration of the control chart. After the elaboration of the control letter, the results of the LC50-96H found for each of the tested substances will be compared, and if the results obtained remain within the limits of the graph, then it will be possible to infer about the possibility of validation of the species used. It is noteworthy that initially preliminary tests will be carried out to determine the final concentrations of potassium dichromate, as well as other toxicants. Physicochemical analysis of the water will also be carried out: pH, temperature, ammonia, alkalinity, total hardness. For the determination of the CL50-96h, the program ToxRat Professional, Version 3.0 (ToxRat Solutions GmbH) will be used. Biometric data will be analyzed using univariate statistics. The Microsoft Excel® 2013 program will be used to construct the control chart. The results of the physical-chemical evaluations will be analyzed statistically using the GraphPad Prism 6.0 program.
