Since antiquity,honey hasbeen usedempirically to treatdiseases andwounds,but onlyin the
lastdecadeshavetheystartedtodevelopstudiestoanalyzeitsanti-inflammatory,antimicrobial,
healingandtissuestimulatingproperties.Consideringtheseproperties,theobjectiveofthis
researchistoinvestigatetheantimicrobialactivityofhoneyinnaturaand,then,tomakethe
solutionofthe samehoneyaddedtothesilvernanoparticles,known forhaving disinfectantand
antisepticproperties,fortheobservationofasupposedenhancementantimicrobialeffectof
honey,and inbothphasesagainstthesamemicroorganismsofclinicalinterest:Staphylococcus
aureus,Staphylococcusepidermidis,EscherichiacoliandCandidakruzei,usingawell
diffusion method. This is an analytical, experimental and bibliographic study. The sample will
consistof17honeysfromApismelliferaandMeliponasp.producedincommunitiesin
Santarém-PA,Brazil.Thephysical-chemicalandbiochemicalanalyzescarriedoutonthe
honeyswere:antioxidantactivity(%ofDPPHInhibition),totalphenoliccompounds
(mgGA100g- 1), reducing sugar content (%), pH, soluble solids content (° Brix), moisture (%).
TheuseofAgNPisgrowingexponentiallyandwithmultipleapplicationsandbenefits,in
additiontobeingable tosuppressmicrobialgrowth incontaminatedareas.Thus,in thisstudy
the effects of the association of honey with the silver nanoparticle weresynergistic.The
prepared biogenicAgNPs showeda cytotoxiceffect againstsomeGram positiveand negative
bacteria. Thegreen synthesisofAgNPs usingdifferent honeyscan beanefficient and
economical alternative to combat this bacterial multidrug resistance.
