SUMMARY:

Aquaculture is one of the activities that plays an important role in food supply, and among the cultivation systems, Biofloc Technology (BFT) stands out, which uses little or almost no water exchange due to the microbial activity present in this environment. Thus, BFT can cultivate tons of fish, ensuring both food security and environmental sustainability. In this sense, the main objective of this work was to develop commercial biotechnological products called Biophyago dux – bioactivation and health in biological filters and bioflocs. The project is divided into two stages. First, we aimed to identify and isolate the bacteria involved in the nitrogen cycle. This first product aims to improve cultivation in a biofloc system (BFT) by reducing the floc formation time. Subsequently, for the second product, a commercial biotechnological product from bacteria associated with bacteriophages was previously isolated and identified, specific for Aeromonas hydrofila. In this second stage, the objective is to improve the nutritional quality of the flakes and possibly prevent infections by Aaeromonoseses Hydrofila due to the presence of bacteriophages. Water samples enriched with pre-established bioflocs were collected in tambaquis production tanks, bioreactor samples, and biofilm samples. Strains of bacteria and bacteriophages were isolated and identified from these samples. After isolation and identification, tests will be carried out, in vitro and in vivo, in a controlled environment, with the purpose of evaluating the time of biofloc formation, the quality of the flakes formed, the effect of the products on the development of the flakes, and the consequent damage. fish. Thus, if the tests are successful, a production protocol for the products to be sold can be developed. Finally, this work seeks to collaborate with fish farming and society by making innovative biotechnological products available to the market that result in savings in fish farming, improving the quality of the water used, and improving the quality of the fish. Accordingly, the need to innovate the aquaculture process is balanced by the need to strengthen producers' profitability and environmental sustainability.
