RESUMO:

This research, called "The teaching of grammar in the perspective of the New Grammar of Brazilian Portuguese by author Ataliba Teixeira de Castilho", is part of the general project Analysis of Brazilian Grammars Written by Linguists, developed since 2017 by the Language Studies Group of the West of Pará (Gelopa) of the Federal University of Western Pará (Ufopa), whose aim is to make an analysis of the Brazilian grammar written by linguists. As part of this larger project, this study aims to analyze what conception of grammar and grammar teaching emerges in Ataliba Teixeira de Castilho's The New Grammar of Brazilian Portuguese, besides identifying, in the work of analysis, what it is to teach grammar; to teach grammar and how to teach grammar. The methodology will be of a bibliographical, reading, writing and reflection of works and articles on the grammar teaching, of different authors specializing in grammar, such as: Neves (2011), Perini (1986), Vieira (2018) among other authors that will serve as a theoretical contribution to the analysis of our object of study. As a result of our research, we intend to answer the four guiding questions and show what the work in question contributes to teaching Portuguese.
