School Performance. Educational Indicators. Citizenship. Social Vulnerability
This research problematized the trajectory of Elementary School II students who were beneficiaries of the Bolsa Família Program in the perspective of understanding possible the program's contributions in the lives of children and adolescents. The study has as its guiding basis: What contributions did the Bolsa Família Program bring to beneficiary children and adolescents in a decade of implementation of the program? Considering this questioning, the research aims to analyze the contributions of the PBF in the school trajectory of the beneficiary students attending Elementary School II. The methodological instruments used were the qualitative and quantitative research and Content Analysis of Bardin (2016), as instruments of data collection we used documentary sources of the income of 13 students benefiting from the program in the period from 2011 to 2014, legislation and publications. School performance indicators were used for analysis in Brazil, North Region, State of Pará, Santarém, and the school surveyed, in order to understand how school performance and the possible contributions of this social program to the educational scenario have taken place. In addition to the indicators, the open structured interviews were carried out with the 1st technician responsible for the implantation of the SEASTER PBF, with the 1st and current SEMED PBF coordinator in Santarém and with the direction of the researched school. As a result of the research, it was possible to verify that the program participants feel responsible for school permanence, the school dropout indicators have been the main contribution of the program, the family-school partnership that has been stimulated daily and strengthened, the school has been encouraged to develop monitoring mechanisms for students in order to encourage school success, the effects of PBF on the beneficiaries' lives contribute, albeit insufficiently, to alleviate material needs.
