RESUMO:

This research aims to understand the scope of early childhood education as the interactions take place between the deaf child and the social environment in which it operates. It is a research that seeks to be based on the assumptions of the Historical Cultural Theory. This theory aims to understand human development from social, historical and cultural relations. For the historical-cultural theory we will be based on Vigotski (1997; 2010) and authors who approach this conception as Martins (2013) Duarte (2011). About the history of deaf education we will share the ideas of Soares (1999). For early childhood education we will count on Costa et al (2017); Pasqualini (2010), Kramer (2011) among the authors who seek to study the theme, as well as documents and legislation that support deaf education and early childhood education nationwide. The methodological basis of the research will be structured on dialectical historical materialism, to guide us in this path we will take as a basis Paulo Netto (2011). As data instruments, observations were made in a field diary and semi structured interviews with teachers who work directly with the deaf child. The subjects involved were 4 teachers, two listening teachers and one deaf teacher / instructor and the deaf child. The proposed environment for the development of this work was a Municipal Unit of Early Childhood Education - UMEI of the urban area of the city of Santarém / Pará. A priori three categories of analysis were formulated for the data produced. Given the observations made and recorded in the field diary, interactions involving the deaf child are very restricted to the inner room, with routine activities, although this UMEI has large space to develop various activities teachers do not seem to appreciate it.
