SUMMARY:

The body brings in itself different languages and meanings, through it we establish relationships in which other people, other beings, things that are around, the world are involved. Therefore, this research looks at the body, seeing it in its existential totality, constituting the purest presence of human beings in the world. It is considered that each subject must be understood based on their specificities and particularities. Therefore, the study aims to understand the body conceptions of visually impaired students from public schools in Santarém-PA, in light of the corporeality approach. It is noteworthy that the perception is individual and intrinsic, according to the experience of each being, so no one better to talk about a visually impaired body if not himself, as he is the one who daily lives all his difficulties, potentialities, establishes his relationships, perceives and launches into the world. As theoretical basis, authors such as: Merleau-Ponty (2018), Nóbrega (2005, 2010, 2016), Cerbone (2014), Moreira (1995, 2005, 2006, 2016), Rezende (1990), Amiralian (1997) were used , Mosquera (2010), Porto (2005), Soler (2009), among others that address the theme of body, corporeality and visual impairment. In this study, descriptive research of a qualitative nature was chosen. The theoretical/methodological structure is based on phenomenological assumptions, focusing on the corporeality approach. This research will be developed with students with visual impairment who are attending high school in public schools in the city of Santarém – Pará. The methodological instruments to be used for data production will be: a participant characterization questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. The data will be analyzed from the “Development and Analysis of Units of Meaning”, developed by Moreira; Simons; Porto (2005). It is believed that the discussions outlined in this study about corporeality and visual impairment will contribute to providing a better foundation and knowledge to education professionals in order to dialogue with the bodies of their students, and through this interaction, establish a meaningful learning considering the various ways of teaching, learning and relatin.
