SUMMARY:

Belarusian author Lev Semiónovich Vigotski (1896-1934), based on dialectical materialism, which had its origins in Marxism, argues that man is not born a man, but becomes a man as he maintains a dialectical relationship with the social and the cultural. This process he calls humanization – a process of appropriation of human qualities (development of the subject's intelligence and personality) – is the result of his experience with the social and cultural history created by other men/women who preceded him. Recognizing education as a humanizing possibility and based on the Historical-Cultural Theory (THC), this research has as its main objective: to investigate the contribution of Specialized Educational Service - AEE for the humanization of students with deafblindness, through the service offered by special education teachers , high school, in the city of Santarém-PA. Based on this objective, answer the following question: how has the AEE carried out by special education teachers contributed to the process of humanization of deafblind students in Santarém? Also bringing as specific objectives: to analyze the reports of teachers who participated in the process of deafblind schooling in Santarém; identify the mechanisms used by teachers to establish interactions in the school environment with deafblind people; reflect on the practices used by teachers to teach these individuals aiming at humanization. For the execution of these objectives, this research had as theoretical basis the works of Vigotski (1987, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1999 and 2000) Luria (1996; 1998; 2007), Leontiev (1978; 1998), Baroque (2007; 2009 ), Martins (2009, 2011), Mello (2007, 2010, 2015) and Sierra (2010). Regarding the methodological procedures, the study in question can be characterized, primarily, by its qualitative character, as qualitative research is established on a level of reality that cannot be quantified (MINAYO, 2002). In order to have an overview of the main existing researches, the first source of research is the analysis of bibliographic works on the subject, through a search carried out in the database of the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations – BDTD. As a second source of research, interviews were conducted using a semi-structured script applied to 10 teachers involved in the educational process of students with deafblindness. The analysis of the teachers' reports was made from Bardin's (2011) content analysis and the approach adopted in this research - THC and I use three categories for the analysis of the interviews, namely: communication, pedagogical practices and human training.
