EMOTIONS'SOCIALIZATION IN SHELTER SERVICE: CONCEPTIONS OF CAREGIVERS AND TECHNICAL TEAM

Emotions prepare and guide behaviors for positive and negative experiences, providing information about the importance of stimuli, expressions and problem situations in certain contexts. The early years of a child’s life are fundamental to cognitive, social and emotional development. And with this, the socialization of emotions represents one of the factors that contributes to the development of regulation and emotional expression, as well as seeks to build bonds and socializations that provide security and models of restorative references in their lives. However, it is known that many cases of abandonment, abuse and violence occur in the family environment. And therefore protective measures must be applied; among them, institutional care. Institutions that receive children should be responsible for fundamental care focused on their development, such as cognitive and social aspects; among them, their emotions. Thus, this research aims to analyze the conceptions of socialization of emotions that caregivers/ technical team have for the emotional development of children in foster care. The specific objectives are: a) to describe the conceptions of caregivers/technical staff on the development of emotions of children in care; b) investigate the functional strategies that exist in the institution for the reception of children’s emotions and c) identify the emotional socialization practices of caregivers/ technical team. The study adopts as a methodological strategy the Ecological Insertion, characterized as a method of investigation of the environment and its present phenomena based on the propositions of the model of Urie Bronfrenbenner PPCT- (process, person, context and time)criteria for the development of data collection and analysis. The research will be developed in the Reception House of the municipality of Santarém-Pará, which protects children and adolescents in situations of social risk, being under the responsibility of the Municipal Secretariat of Labor and Social Assistance - SEMTRAS. The target audience and participants of the research will be: caregivers and technical team. As instruments of data production in field research, will be used: Sociodemographic data sheet, observation script, individual interview script and questionnaire. Subsequently, the data will be analyzed according to the characteristics of each research instrument. The research will follow the ethical aspects postulated in Resolution 466/12 of the National Health Council (CSN) to offer the minimum risks to participants, ensuring the quality and reliability of the data collected. This research is authorized by the Research Ethics Committee.
