SUMMARY:

The present research has the general objective of understanding the difficulties and pedagogical challenges of School Education at the Escola de Várzea Nossa Senhora do Livramento, at Quilombo Saracura, in Santarém-Pará, with the intensification of the conservative neoliberal policy, in the period 2018-2022. The methodological treatment of this dissertation is configured in the bibliographical, documentary type, combined with fieldwork procedures. The understanding of reality is based on Marxist dialectics in dialogue with theories in which the themes of Rural Education, territoriality and related issues are present. Dialogue with black epistemologies and, between class and race, are fundamental for the understanding and performance of an education from an anti-classist, anti-capitalist and anti-racist perspective. Based on these assumptions, it is inferred that in 2018 the collapse of the Escola de Várzea Nossa Senhora do Livramento challenged teachers, students, the management team and other professionals to create strategies and alternatives for the continuity of the provision of education to students. In addition to the local and state government neglect, regarding the structural architecture and the teaching offer at Quilombo Saracura, the school, teachers, students and community, had to learn to face and deal with the health crisis of the Covid Pandemic, from 2019. The efforts to implement Quilombola School Education in the Municipal Public Education Network and the challenges of this practice at the Escola de Várzea Nossa Senhora do Livramento were also evident. Concerningly, the precariousness of teaching work in the quilombola school was observed, since more than 90% of the employees are in the condition of temporary servants, and a large part of these, live the school routine of neglect, of the attempt of silencing and denial of rights by part of the State institutions and, of the contradictions with the experience of Rural Education in the Quilombo Saracura. Faced with these difficulties and challenges, the school represents an alternative for improving people's living conditions, as long as they are given the opportunity to learn
