This work, still in progress, has the general objective identify relativization strategies used by 8th grade students and propose activities that help in the reflection and mas- tery of language, regarding the use of relative. Relativization strategies - a variable phenomenon in Portuguese - refer to the structuring process of subordinate adjective sentences, being an important mechanism of textual cohesion. To achieve the re- search objectives, an intervention proposal with language activities in use is being elaborated, considering three distinct aspects supported by Vieira's research (2017), which addresses three axes for teaching grammar. This proposal may be applied to classes in the 8th year of elementary school, with the objective of: (i) proposing activi-

ties that contribute to the reflection of different relativization strategies; (ii) promoting the reflection of linguistic variation as a phenomenon inherent in the entire linguistic system; (iii) provide students with knowledge of the language in use; (iv) evidence the heterogeneity of language through different relativization strategies; (v) demonstrate the dynamic character of the language and its transformations; (vi) combating oppres- sive linguistic prejudice through the discernment of what is linguistic variation; (vii) de- velop the linguistic awareness of the student / user of the language. To reference this work we used as a base authors such as Neves (2000–2019), Cunha & Cintra (2013), Rocha Lima (2019), Bechara (2009), Cas-tilho (2010), Perini (2003–2010) ), among others.
