SUMMARY:
This work presents the Afro-Brazilian short story as a training and education instrument based on literary reading in the Basic Education curriculum. It aims to analyze, develop and implement anti-racist pedagogical practices with the support of Afro-Brazilian literature. In order to understand more about the universe of literature and ethnic-racial relations, we sought to know the current legislation and the theoretical support that relied on texts by the researchers: Amâncio; Gomes; Jorge (2014), Cândido (1995), Cosson (2018; 2020; 2021), Dalcastagnè (2011), Duarte (2008; 2014), Debus (2017) among others of equal importance. The main questions that guided the research were: Why are literary literacy practices important for the continuous reading formation of teachers and students? How can Afro-Brazilian authored narratives contribute to the deconstruction of racist practices and concepts inside and outside the classroom? It is a bibliographic, qualitative, participatory research, initiated from investigative interviews with Portuguese language teachers and 9th grade students from a public school in the state of Amapá. Its procedure was to read and analyze official documents, books, articles and dissertations by researchers from the Professional Master's Program in Letters – PROFLETRAS; in addition to the elaboration of an educational product proposal “Afro-literary literacy in practice”, hosted on the Google Classroom virtual platform. The results of this study confirmed the social and educational contribution of the theme focused on ethnic-racial relations in everyday school life, not only on commemorative dates, but on a permanent basis. And that the Afro-literary literacy of teachers and students is an important path for an education that contemplates the appreciation of diversity through the reading of texts by black authors in order to enhance the implementation of Federal Law 10.639/2003 and State Law 1.196 /2008.
