SUMMARY:

This work is a qualitative/participatory research that intended to analyze the problem: The analysis work with the textual genre lyrics of popular music from Pará can allow the understanding of the phenomenon of the linguistic variation and to develop the teaching of LP in the fundamental teaching making it the most significant? Having as a general objective, to verify how the work with the lyrics of popular music from Pará can contribute to the teaching of the Portuguese language and facilitate the understanding of the phenomenon of linguistic variation and develop the teaching of LP in elementary school, making it more meaningful, in the context of Elementary School II, specifically with a 7th grade class, 20 students, from Escola Nôr Michel Gantuss, located in the neighborhood of Liberdade, in the city of Alenquer. Determining the way in which the phenomenon of linguistic variation is treated in the school environment, as this must be understood as a natural phenomenon of the language and that constitutes the identity of the speaker. Focusing on the sociolinguistic studies of Labov (1972), Bagno (2007), Bortoni-Ricardo (2020) and genus Marcuschi, L (2008). The research methodology was carried out through a set of activities proposed and organized in stages to obtain and analyze the research aspects and data, and the description of the results. During the interventional methodology, popular Pará songs were used because they present variable expressions common to the daily life of the Pará speaker. Thus, it is believed that the analysis of the lexical semantic aspects found in this written modality should lead the student to reflect on the language that constitutes his linguistic identity. It is the role of the school to develop and expand the student's linguistic competence and the work with variation seeks to allow and make this process viable, it would be a way to lead to reflection on the language in use - Functionalism. The expected results are in line with the proposed objectives and the relevance of the need to have proposals that can help in the teaching and learning of the Portuguese language, which is one of the objectives of PROFLETRAS - UFOPA. The subject must perceive himself as a speaking agent of a language variety within his language, and not in a “wrong” way according to a form. Research related to language is important in the Amazon scenario, mainly because language is part of our local identity, our culture, our way of being in this very plural nation.
