RESUMO:

The present research is entitled “CARNAPAUXIS: A historiographical analysis of the socioeconomic transformations in the street carnival of the municipality of Óbidos - PA, from 2010 to 2020”. By means of the decree of Law 7,225, of November 24, 2008, the street carnival of the municipality of Óbidos, traditionally known as “CARNAPAUXIS: the party of the masked fobó” received the title of Cultural and Artistic Heritage of Pará, thus achieving, greater projection in the cultural scene of Pará. Considering that such cultural manifestation is an important event in the local and regional scenario, it was assumed that this representativeness reflects the socioeconomic transformations of this municipality during the period of its realization. In this sense, the problem that stimulates the research is based on the following question: Does Obidense street carnival reflect, in some way, on the socioeconomic transformations of the municipality of Óbidos-PA, how does this occur? The research aims to: investigate how the street carnival of the municipality of Óbidos, from 2010 to 2020 has been reflecting on the socioeconomic aspect of this municipality. In this sense, we intend to evaluate this cultural manifestation, during the period of its realization, from a critical historical analysis, considering its social and economic aspects. In the course of the work will be discussed the history of carnival in the broader context from ancient times to the present day. The historical approach of the Óbidos Carnival, as well as the analysis of the field and documentary research on the socioeconomic impact survey, during the event in this municipality, will be discussed from a historical cut from 2010 to 2020. Also documentary sources concerning the obidense street carnival will be analyzed, as well as field research, through interviews and the application of a questionnaire and photographic records.
