RESUMO:

The expansion of access and permanence in higher education in Brazil, counted on the Support Program for Plans for Restructuring and Expansion of Federal Universities (Reuni), instituted by Decree No. 6,096, of April 24, 2007, and fostered the creation new federal universities like the Federal University of Western Pará. The expansion of higher education brought the need for discussions in Higher Education Institutions, such as the policy of affirmative actions initially through the well-known Law of Quotas (Law No. 10,588 / 2002). Resolution No. 194/2017 was approved at the Federal University of Western Pará, approving the Basic Indigenous Training Project, and subsequently Resolution No. 200/2017, which instituted the Policy of Affirmative Actions and Promotion of Ethnic-Racial Equality, the the first is destined exclusively to indigenous students entering the Special Indigenous Selection Process (PSEI), and the second is of greater scope, aimed at historically excluded groups. Four years after the approval of the Basic Indigenous Training (FBI) project at the Institution, this dissertation under development aims to analyze the referred project, as a strategy of the Affirmative Actions and Promotion of Ethnic-Racial Equality policy, seeking to evaluate the impacts on performance academic of indigenous students who passed through the FBI, to the detriment of those who did not. This objective is intended to be achieved by means of a historical survey on the construction of the institutional policy of affirmative actions at UFOPA; analysis of the impacts of affirmative action policies for access and permanence of indigenous people in higher education in Brazil and Ufopa e; survey and analysis of the impacts of the FBI on the academic development of students admitted to the institution through the PSEI. The research methodology is characterized as qualitative or mixed, and will use the exploratory and descriptive case study method, in addition to the bibliographic and documentary research by which secondary data will be used, provided by the Information and Communication Technology Center - CTIC / Ufopa and in documents on the topic and related content. The work is under construction.
