Mineração Rio do Norte's (MRN) large bauxite mining project, located in the district of Porto Trombetas, in Oriximiná, transformed the economic and social structures of the State of Pará, modifying the space and substantially altering the lives of the region's residents. The project's host city, previously with an economy focused on extractivism and family production, has become an important center of population attraction, commerce and industry, driven by the growing demand for services in the face of mineral activity. Thus, the realities of the inhabitants are shaped by the advances generated by the implementation of the project, such as the creation of roads and side roads, but mainly, the expansion of access to education. However, the arrival of the industry brought other significant changes, not necessarily positive for the residents. In this context, the object of this project is to analyze quantitatively and qualitatively how the insertion of mining in the region changed the Oriximinaenses lives in terms of Education.
