This research seeks to analyze the cosmology of the Borari people of the village of Alter do Chão, in Santarém, western Pará. The sacaquismo, as the Borari people call the science of their ancient shamanism, cuts across not only the division of the Boraris families but also their relationship with the territory, spirits, and local flora and fauna. In the social circumstances of the Borari people, their cosmology materializes as the vital part of the ancestral knowledge passed on from generation to generation, and which has not been studied in depth. In the literature, there is still little detailed ethnographic data on their relations with non-human beings and their worldview. The Borari people share many elements of their beliefs and knowledge with the regional relations system of the Lower Tapajós, but have several unique ethnic and ethnographic elements. There are still no ethnographies that focus exclusively on their native shamanism, but there are, however, other bibliographic works that detail the theme at a regional level and address local shamanism in an introductory way. It is at this point that the development of this ethnography will be particularly important, to study the native vision of the Borari people about important ethnographic questions such as: who is the sacaca, what is his role, what is his destiny during and after life, who are his enemies, what are his main ideas, methods and beliefs, what are his relations with Christianity, besides other fundamental aspects that surround the sacaquismo (shamanism, cosmology) of the Borari people.
