This research is a bibliographical study that addresses the topic of fishing practices
sustainable development in Pará – Amazon, aiming to understand the learning and reproduction of
fishing practices, the know-how of fishermen, going through the history of fishing, the
equipment and artisanal techniques, the imaginary/legendary of fishermen and the knowledge
traditional passed down from generations to generations.
