SUMMARY:

"Terra Cabana" is a judicial case of collective conflict over the dispute of an area in the Municipality of Benevides, in the State of Pará, where a private company, called CCS, claims the possession of the area already occupied by several families, who identify with the Landless Movement (MST), and other groups that prefer not to adopt the same identity.  which are the Nelson Mandela I, II and III occupations, which reveals a heterogeneity of actors and interesting legal and social elements to better understand the dynamics of agrarian and land conflicts in the Amazon. Thus, it is necessary to delve into the normative instruments and sociological aspects of the conflict involving Terra Cabana. With this change of perspective, it is hoped to be able to understand the development of creative and consensual paths or methodologies that marked the treatment of the conflict, with the participation of all the actors involved as protagonists. The general objective of this work is to analyze theoretical-methodological paths of self-composition used in the Terra Cabana Case that can contribute to a better understanding of interventions in collective conflicts of this nature, as well as whether self-composition methodologies can contribute to the reduction of the inequality of forces between the actors involved, and how the Judiciary is structured to act in similar cases. The methodology was based on the existing literature review on the use of self-compositional means of dealing with collective conflicts, and the study of the Terra Cabana Case. As a result, an evaluation of the lessons learned in the use of self-compositional methodologies in the Terra Cabana case was developed, revealing its weaknesses and strengths, as well as the intervention strategies of the Judiciary through the 7th CEJUSC in other similar cases.
