RESUMO:

Over the last decades, population increase, economic interests and the exploitation of natural resources have contributed to the vulnerability of the Amazon in increasing deforestation of its ecosystems, changing the way of life of traditional populations. Since the 1930s, socio-environmental issues in the Amazon have been ruled on a worldwide scale from the perspective of conceptualizing and establishing guidelines for the creation of a Conservation Unit (UC). The PAs are divided into two groups: Integral Protection and Sustainable Use and according to the National System of Conservation Unit - SNUC, established by Law 9.985 / 2000, when dealing with the second group, the objective is to make nature conservation compatible. sustainable use of part of its natural resources. Still according to the law, the populations of these areas should be valued, focusing on the protection of natural resources and the valorization of traditional populations, with all their cultural apparatus for socioeconomic promotion. This category includes the Tapajós National Forest (Flona), established by Federal Decree No. 73.684 / 1974, covering an area of 600,000 hectares, belonging to the municipalities of Aveiro, Belterra, Placas and Rurópolis, in the western state of Pará. Since its inception, the people living in this UC have been organizing themselves into social organizations, among which stand out: community and intercommunity association. These associations play a fundamental role in the search for better living conditions of families, acting in a harmonious way in the social and environmental fields, contributing to the protection of natural resources and the subsistence of traditional populations, according to the legal framework. Thus, the Flona Tapajós, which was the first UC in the sustainable use category, and with great contribution to the conservation of biodiversity in the Amazon, constitutes an important locus for the study of human relations and their governance strategies with the environment. In this sense, the question arises: what is the role of the Association of Rural Jamaican Extractive Farmers (ASMORJA) for community governance aimed at promoting the development of the community of Jamara? From the perspective of answering the above question, the research aims to analyze the role of a social organization, ASMORJA, and its governance strategies for local development in the Tapajós National Forest. For this, the qualitative and quantitative approaches will be used, in order to understand the experiences of community governance practiced by the social organization studied, through the characterization of the socioeconomic activities developed in the locus of study, as well as the identification and description of the organization and governance of the community. Association. As for the research method, this is a case study. With a focus on substantiating the field research, as well as elements that make it possible to verify the current state of the association, field observation will be performed to better understand the studied reality. To this end, a meeting will be held with the participants of the ASMORJA Association, with application of the SWOT Matrix that will allow to know more clearly and transparently the potentialities and weaknesses, socializing with the association information about the knowledge of a tool that can enable its organizational management. , and contribute to their survival, maintenance, growth and development. The field research will also resort to the application of semi-structured interviews with members, containing open and closed questions to characterize the socioeconomic activities of the Jamaraçá community and observe the governance strategies remembered by the members. In the systematization, the data will be grouped with the Excel for Windows 2010® program support, for later statistical analysis to trace the socioeconomic profile of the members. Textual analysis of the interviewees' speeches will be made, based on the Discursive Textual Analysis - ATD, which presents itself as a data analysis approach that permeates between two forms of research analysis. It is hoped thus with the results of the research, obtain: a description of the historical process of the Jamarara Community in the light of the creation of governance strategies; the characterization of the socioeconomic activities carried out in the Jamaraçá Community by the associates of ASMORJA; and analysis of the association's current governance perspectives (ASMORJA), which take into account community and Flona development.
