INFLUENCE OF LAND USE AND OCCUPATION ON THE WATER QUALITY OF THE IRURÁ STREAM, SANTARÉM - PA
Systematic review, land use and occupation, urban surface water bodies, water quality
The effect of population growth generates social, economic and ecological problems, with reflexes that can be perceived when assessing changes in land use, as this phenomenon annually amplifies, changing the landscape in order to meet human needs. Among these changes, we can see the road infrastructure, housing and trades, which alter the soil sealing, consequently the local hydrological cycle and microclimate, as well as the functions and services of the ecosystem. This process affects the water bodies and the entire aquatic ecosystem, reducing the vegetation of the banks. In this sense, the general objective of this work was to conduct a systematic review of studies on urbanization and water quality in Brazil, as well as to evaluate the influence of land use and occupation on the water quality of an urban water body in Santarém, Pará. , Brazil. To answer these objectives the dissertation will be divided into two chapters, which are in the format of articles. Chapter 1: Conduct a survey of the main studies that address urbanization and water quality in Brazil, through a systematic review, following the PRISMA-P protocol, searching the main databases of articles published in the last decade, which were directly linked. the theme, systematically analyzed through 27 predetermined recommendations, presenting a portrait of the research and methodologies used in Brazil. Chapter 2: To assess the influence of land use and occupation on water quality, a water body was selected in the urban area of Santarém, Pará. Water samples will be collected from the water body at six different sites, starting from nascent, this collection will be repeated every two months and will count four campaigns during the year, following the seasonal changes of the water body. Sample collection will meet the standards set in the National Guide for Sample Collection and Preservation. Physical, chemical and bacteriological parameters will be evaluated. The analysis of the samples will be performed in a private laboratory, signed by a qualified professional. To evaluate the results of water samples, we will calculate the Water Quality Index (IQA), which uses nine parameters. For land use, the streams basin will be delimited, assessing the main changes occurred in the last decade, considering the characteristics of the soil cover. As a result, it is expected to have an evaluation of the effects of the urbanization process on the water quality of the water body, becoming the basis for the creation of proposals for urban water body management, especially in the Amazon region
