RESUMO:

When it comes to social isolation, it is believed that one of the factors that has most affected the children's routine was the impossibility of going to school, given that they were closed to face-to-face activities by government orders. It is noteworthy that a school is an important factor for maintaining the subjective well-being of children, as recommended in the scientific literature on the subject. In this dissertation, it is considered that social isolation, especially the impossibility of going to school, can be a factor that negatively interferes with the well-being of children. Based on this understanding, some alternatives were sought in the literature that could be tested in order to reduce the stress caused by social isolation. Music therapy / musical activities was the alternative chosen to be evaluated as an intervening variable, which can provide better levels of well-being in the research participants, since, in studies conducted with children, results have shown results, even though the researches collected been carried out in other contexts, such as the hospital in its majority. In view of this, the following question is raised: How does music therapy promote the well-being of children aged 8 to 12 years in times of pandemic? This research aims to find out how music therapy / musical activities contribute to the well-being of children aged 8 to 12 who are in social isolation at home in the municipality of Santarém-Pará during the pandemic. This is a research with an exploratory quantitative and qualitative approach. The research will take place in two stages: the first stage will involve 382 children aged 8 to 12 years, living in the municipality of Santarém-Pará. For this stage, the following instruments will be used: Sociodemographic data questionnaire; Anamnesis form in Music Therapy; Child Stress Scale, the Multidimensional Life Satisfaction Scale for Children (EMSVC), Global Child Life Satisfaction Scale, all replicated for Google Forms. In the second stage, only children who scored levels 2 and 3 on the child stress scale will participate. This stage will consist of Online Musical Intervention via the zoom® plataform. At the end of the planned sessions, the participants will complete the scales again and participate in a semi-structured interview that aims to ascertain the perceptions of the respondents about the musical activities performed. The data referring to the Child Stress Scale, EMSVC, the Global Child Life Satisfaction Scale and Sociodemographic Data will be analyzed using the Paired t-Student Test. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test will be applied, with significance level α = 0.05. Qualitative data from the Semi-Structured Interview will be analyzed through the Collective Subject Discourse (DSC). It is hoped that the data found can be useful in creating more effective strategies to promote the health and well-being of children in situations of social isolation.
