RESUMO:

The present work, presented in two chapters, aims to investigate the relationship between man and wild fauna in a Conservation Unit in the Brazilian Amazon, assessing possible risks of loss of the culture of traditional peoples, as well as the lack of food and overexploitation of fauna. In the first chapter, the results of a scientometric analysis on trends and gaps in ethnozoology in Brazil will be presented, based on the Web of Science database from 1999 - 2019. In the scientometric analysis, the main journals on the topic were investigated, the distribution of ethno-zoological research in Brazil according to the topic of study, frequency and correlation of keywords contained in the works and the temporal trends of publications. 178 articles were recovered, of which due to exclusion generated by refinement and incompatibility with the theme, 117 articles were used for analysis. The 2016 year was observed as having the largest number of publications; zootherapy with greater occurrence among the sub-areas of ethnozoology accessed; the northeastern region with the largest number of publications, which were produced mainly by the partnership between
universities established there (UFRP, UEPB, URCA), aiming to leverage ethno-zoological studies and training of trained human resources; strong relationship between the words "etnozoology" and "conservation", among the correlations of keywords in the studies, highlighting the importance of etnozoology as a tool for the conservation of natural resources and maintenance of cultures; and co-citations among the universities among the selected articles, which, in fact, corroborated the aforementioned statement, that some institutions seek to strengthen themselves through joint publication or citation of works developed in the same region. Thus, the first chapter highlighted gaps and trends in this science, and may assist future researchers interested in the area. The second chapter, still under construction, investigates the uses of wild fauna in the traditional communities Mentai and Pascoal, located in RESEX Tapajós-Arapiuns, rural area of the Santarém, state of Pará, Brazil. The article is being proposed in order to present results on the use of animals from uses in the production of handicrafts, food, zootherapics, magic-religious purposes, among others. Data collection will take place from semi-structured interviews to be carried out with local communities, using the snowball method to select them. In addition to the interviews, using a bibliographic reference, an inventory will be made of the animals most cited by the interviewees, in order to know those who suffer more or less pressure within the conservation unit.
