RESUMO:

To ponder on the relationship between human beings and nature is also to immerse themselves in different historical and cultural moments. As a social subject in history, the human being establishes meanings and significance for nature, creating connections that guide his way of thinking and acting before the environment. The general objective of the dissertation is to understand the connection with the nature of children between 8 and 11 years old and the relationships between such connection and the pro-environmental behavior of these children in a riverside community in the Tapajós National Forest, Pará State. The dissertation project is divided into two chapters: The first chapter of this dissertation is an article that systematizes and characterizes the scientific production on pro-environmental behaviors and connection with nature among children in Latin America, in order to discuss the inter -relationships between such concepts. The research consisted of a qualitative systematic review, using the PRISMA recommendation to identify and critically select the literature in the Web of Science, SciELO and Scopus databases, using the descriptors: “Connect * OR Behavio * AND Natur * OR Environmen * AND Child * ”. The structured methodological procedures for data analysis and synthesis were based on the Qualitative Evidence Synthesis (SEQ) protocol. Scientific production in Latin America is evolving in quantity, diversity of countries and authors. In this sense, of the 13 articles selected in this review, seven are from Brazil. SEQ demonstrates that studies of the connection between child and nature highlight this connection as a factor that positively influences the development of children, especially in the sense of self-perception with nature. The second chapter outlines the research that will investigate the relationship between child-nature connection and pro-environmental behavior in a community in Flona Tapajós, Pará. This chapter corresponds to a qualitative research, with semi-structured interviews with 15 children in the São Domingos community. Data will be analyzed using the Collective Subject Discourse technique.
