RESPIRATORY DISEASES RELATED TO BURNS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MARABÁ-PA IN THE PERIOD FROM 2016 TO 2020
Respiratory diseases. Burns. Marabá.
The soot and gases released in the fires mainly cause respiratory diseases, requiring a greater number of visits in health establishments, burdening the State and causing congestion in the public health system. The World Health Organization indicated that human exposure can occur through inhalation, ingestion or contact with the skin, but inhalation can be considered the most important and most vulnerable route. In the municipality of Marabá there was an increase in the number of fire outbreaks between the months of July and September, similar to the behavior of hospitalizations for the same period. Thus, this project aims to identify the records of respiratory problems in the city of Marabá-PA in the period from 2016 to 2020, and relate them to the periods of the year with the greatest outbreaks of fire in this city. The research project will be divided into three methodological stages: two phases of data collection and one of data analysis. With this proposal, it is expected to identify the relationship between periods of major fire outbreaks and the prevalence of cases of respiratory problems in the population of Marabá-PA.
