ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PRAXIS: THE CASE OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF AFUÁ-MARAJÓ-PARÁ, BRAZIL

The praxis of environmental education at school is fundamental in contemporary times, for the construction of a fairer school community and sensitized with issues related to problems triggered in the environment and also have a perception of the importance of their performance in this environment, being able to effect a contextualized reading in the global and regional scope and with its daily reality, in the high formation of critical participants. The main objective of the dissertation is to identify how the Municipal Department of Education-SEMED articulates public policies aimed at the praxis of environmental education, in the teaching network, to meet the legal principles of Law 9795 of April 27, 1999, which guides the National Environmental Education Policy in Brazil. The locus of study is SEMED and two schools in the municipality of Afuá, located in the Marajó Region, state of Pará. The research has a qualitative and quantitative approach using the inductive method, using documents and interviews as instruments; and the target audience will be SEMED technicians, managers, teachers and elementary school students. It is expected that the data collected can be additives for the construction of policies that involve environmental education praxis from SEMED/Afuá to its teaching network, and to researchers who are interested in the object studied.
