PAGES: 77
BIG AREA: Outra
AREA: Multidisciplinar
SUMMARY:

This research is focused on dance and how it can influence the relationships between caregivers and children living in the context of institutional care. Its general objective is, therefore, to analyze how an activity with dance strengthens the interactions between caregivers and children in an institutional foster home. The specific objectives are: to investigate the existence of contemporary and non contemporary dyads, adults and children in the context of institutional care, to identify previous experiences with the dance of the identified dyads involving children, and finally to verify the contributions of dance as a molar activity to create and maintain primary dyads in the context of institutional care. The research is based on Bronfenbrenner's Bioecological Theory of Human Development (1917) which proposes that the study of human development should occur through theanalysis of four related nuclei: process-person-context-time. The participants of this research are children between 5 and 12 years old and the caregivers who work in the institutional shelter. Dance interventions will be carried out for the participants to perform together, and as instruments for data collection, sociodemographic data sheet, interview script, observation script, conversation circle script and field diary will be used. Sociodemographic data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics. The data from the interviews and the conversation circle will be analyzed using the Collective Subject Discourse technique. The observations will be secondary and supporting data along with data from the field diary, which will be used for data discussion. It is expected that the results of the research will contribute to the establishment of strategies that provide better development for children in a shelter context, based on the establishment and maintenance of dyads present in this institution.
