Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative, neuroprogressive disease, resulting from the impairment of the nigrostriatal dopaminergic pathway, which presents as main characteristics: bradykinesia, plastic hypertonia, postural instability and resting tremor. From the emergence of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health, the limitation of a disease-centered approach was overcome and expanded to a view centered on the impacts that the health condition brings to the individual's functionality. This project aims to: Investigate the impact of Parkinson's Disease on the functionality of individuals in Santarém, state of Pará, by collecting information regarding their functional capacity, socioeconomic conditions, disease staging and functional independence.
