BIG AREA: Outra
AREA: Multidisciplinar
SUMMARY:

This research aims to investigate residents' perception regarding the provision of basic sanitation services and the incidence of diseases related to inadequate environmental sanitation in the areas occupied by Vista Alegre do Juá, located in the municipality of Santarém-PA. Adopting a qualitative-quantitative approach, the specific objectives include identifying the current state of basic sanitation in the community, analyzing the quality of services provided and identifying factors that may influence the occurrence of diseases in this context. Furthermore, the research aims to develop a panel on sanitation and associated diseases through a web system covering the urban community of Vista Alegre do Juá and the municipality of Santarém-PA. The sample will consist of 60 residents, from a total of approximately 5,000 residents of the Juá community, selected randomly, and the data will be collected through bibliographical and documentary research, fieldwork with semi-structured questionnaires, secondary data from the Brazil Sanitation Panel and search for medical records at the Salvação Basic Health Unit. The data from the questionnaires will be tabulated in the Excel program and spatialized using the QGIS software, while the statistical analysis at the UBS will be conducted using simplified analyses, providing a detailed view of the health situation in the community. Although SaneData does not yet have information entered into its database, the research, through the availability of this database, will seek to democratize access to information and thus contribute to the debate on access to sanitation, a fundamental human right. Preliminary results were obtained through visits to the urban community and a pre-questionnaire that addressed residents' perception of sanitation and health services. However, the final results of this research seek to facilitate the creation of scenarios related to access and quality of basic sanitation services, supporting decision-making processes in public policies.
