RESUMO:

Knowledge about the Gerromorpha infraorder is growing in Brazil, especially under aspects of description and redescription of species and genera. However, these studies focused on the North and Southeast regions, which consequently have the largest number of known species. Even so, it is understood that this knowledge is incomplete. Even in the state of Pará, where the largest number of Gerromorpha species has been registered for the North region, there is still a need for studies on the group, given the state's territorial extension and difficulties in access (e.g. closed forests) to many areas. Thus, many areas in the state, such as the metropolitan region of Santarém, in western Pará, were inventoried.
